Question for all. But especially Ed001 if he has time.

Given what is usually considered the spine of a team being, goalkeeper, centre back, centre mid, And striker would you agree our spine is all world class with Alisson, VVD, Fabinho and Firmino. I just don't see a better spine anywhere in world football.

{Ed001's Note - it really depends on your definition of world class. I certainly can't think of a better spine off the top of my head.}

Well world class in this day and age. Obviously if the likes of R9 Maldini. Alonso was still playing in there prime things would be different lol.

We are getting well ahead of ourselves calling all 4 world class. Fabs has only really played 3 months for us. I know he was good at Monaco but wasn't really playing for Brazil.

VVD I say yes he gets in a world squad, and a world 11.
Fabs I hope so but too early to tell yet.
Allison He is well on the way and by this time next year I would fully expect him to be. Next year I expect him to be even better.
Firmino not for me.

Mark I agree that fabs and Bobby don't get into a world 11 however I think there are more than 1 world class player in each position. And I don't see any other teams that have those 4 positions stronger than us combined. City have fernandino and aguero but not a keeper or cb as good. PSG are mostly a front 3 only team with verati. If you know any teams who do compare I'd love to hear your opinion mate 👍.

World squad I would say you have to get in. But sometimes there are lots of quality keepers around and nother times maybe no world class centre backs.

City I would say is equal
Laporte not as good
Aguero better

Mbappe probably the best centre forward in the world even though he is pushed wide.
Verati Brilliant definitely world class
and Silva cb is very good.
Buffon used to be the best

Juve or Athletico they have very good spines.

I hate to say it but Man United are only a central defender away from having a very good spine. De Gea, Lindelof, Pogba, Rashford. Sign a decent centre half to play alongside Lindelof and theirs is very strong.

All four aren't World class but it's as good or better than the likes of Madrid, Barca, PSG, Bayern etc. Just shows how rapid our progress is, considering Salah could be included in place of Bobby which would make it the best in the world for me.

This 'world class' thing I don't and won't use often because it's used far too much BUT the spine of our team, the 4 players you mention, yes the spine is world class. I am trying to think of other teams with the players from the back to the top as good as ours and I can't think of one. Alisson and Fabinho filled the gaps needing to be filled now the spine is complete. Losing any of them 4 would be brutal for Liverpool imo.

What I'm really happy about though is how quick Alisson and Fabinho settled in, we didn't see Fabinho for a while but once he started to play, we've seen him get better and better, he's bloody quality and Alisson is a season changer.

I don't think any of our players are world class, its Kloop who made them world class.
