Never seem a player get a zero! Excellent. Understandable as he did nowt but get done over and over.

It was refreshing to see a team try to play football against us at anfield but seeing as even City came for a draw it was perhaps a little naive.

Was there talk of us possibly signing gray? Summer before last. Does anyone think he has enough to make an impact here?

Nice one Ed!

With people on the site talking the high press high scoring again after this game, personally I didn't see it.

I didn't think we pressed more so than the start of the season it was just slightly more efficient than the start of the season. The main difference was the full back delivery as you mentioned for me. Trent especially was just at it for the whole game and obviously ended up with 3 assists.

In an ideal world Ed would our midfield moving on and into next season be something like the following for you? Fabinho at the main holding role, one of hendo gini playing on one side with the capability to drop in and screen beside Fab but also license to move forward. Finally one of ox keita on the other side with more license to move forward and and join part of the press higher up the field.

For me I feel this is where we seem to be moving toward in an ideal world, I think it will provide the best balance of cover and attacking impotence.

{Ed001's Note - that sounds ideal to me.}

Ed001, do you think Salah was trying too hard on Wednesday? By this I mean he tore the poor defender apart but was so eager to get a goal that he may have chosen the wrong choice at key moments.

Although I might be being too critical of a player that has set his benchmark sky high.

{Ed001's Note - no he kept playing in others when there was a chance. More of a problem was his team mates getting in the way.}

I'd have given Fabinho a 10. Being at the ground i was in complete awe of the bloke, what a player we have on our hands.

{Ed001's Note - he was fantastic but I dropped a point because I like him so thought it might have been my bias that made me think he was best on the pitch.}

Not at all Tris, he was faultless. Showed every side to his game against Watford. Elegance, aggression, composure, positional awareness and excellent technically. Without him, they may have got a couple of goals.

{Ed001's Note - glad to hear that, makes me feel better to know I wasn't being biased.}

An excellent review once again Ed. Masina, I almost felt sorry for him, almost ;) !

TAA was incredible and for me the best player on the pitch (along with Fabinho) , if he carries on like that and he's going to be a fan favourite in no time. He's already getting there with me, we just need to see more of what we saw the other day and we're laughing because on his day he's bloody unreal.

Thanks very much mate, perfect review.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate.}

No bias towards Fab, Ed. He was amazing and like others said, he easily could have been awarded a 10 cos he did not put a foot wrong ALL game long.

Ed001, what do you think of a midfield of Ox-Keita-Fabinho for next season (assuming all 3 are in peak form) ? Sounds too offensive but I would actually have both of them share or alternate the No. 8 and no. 10 positions between them during a game. And use this duo mostly at home and against teams from the middle to lower parts of the table who park buses. Hendo and Wijnaldum would rotate or come in during games. I think Milner will probably move on because I don't think LFC will give him an extension beyond one year if they do, and he could probably get a better deal at Leeds. I would normally pick Wijnaldum ahead of Keita, but Keita has this dribbling and incisive, driving part of his game that can make a difference in games, which Wijnaldum does not have.

{Ed001's Note - it looks good on paper but it has to be picked on form and fitness.}

Defo no bias towards Fabinho ed, I said myself that he was the best player on the pitch! It shows just how well he played that he stood out so much even though Trent got a hat trick of assists, Robbo got 2 assists and mane and van dijk both got a brace! We have a real player here and he’s starting to look like the signing of the season!

Nah, you're right ed01, he was the best player on the park. The fact he can play rb and cb too tells me he has a certain football intelligence. Can you remember people saying we might have a lemon on our hands! If he's a lemon he's the type that goes in a gin and tonic, totally refreshing. He had that long shot that the commentators I was listening to said "was well wide" but it wasn't that wide. We are talking a split millimetre on where his foot made contact with the ball and that would have rocketed into the top corner. It was difficult coming across his body. If it had gone in it would have been a 10.

Can you imagine next season, once he is fully embedded into the team and no longer the new boy. Steven Gerrard was my favourite player. And I see similarities. He started at rb, he is strong in the tackle, has a great passing range and can shoot. I see him in the next couple of years being lauded as the best cm in the league.

And yes, he does remind me of hanman a bit.

And I have not even close to writing off keita, in the bayern game he was dribbling past three players. All highly talented midfielders if not a bit on the old side. I think he needs a goal. A cracker. He is going to be class but like so many highly, naturally talented players it does take a while to get him comfortable in the team.

I'd say along with salah mane and firmino, keita is probably the most gifted player at the club technically.

We have a lot of midfielders, all of high quality. Fab, hendo, gini, ox, keita, milner and they are so interchangeable. Gini can mid or an attacking mid. (I wish he would shoot more but its safety first with him and I respect that) I get the feeling he is well liked by everyone at the club. He is a smiley guy and seems to be a good bloke. In the bayern game he had world beating midfielders snapping at his heels but with skill and awareness he is able to either beat them or make space to find a safe pass.

We do have a surpless of cms though and I'd like to ask the eds if they think anyone will be leaving in the summer. I forgot to mention lallana who yes, sometimes slows down the play but he does have something different from the rest.

I think ads is the most likely to leave in the summer. There is also the milner/ Leeds question. I would hate to lose milly. I think, especially in the big games, that he is possibly the best forward playing mid. And the friendship he has formed with young trent has really helped the young scouser. If he does leave for Leeds I hope we show more class than city and applaud a player who has given his all for this club. Unless he moves to utd or Everton I will always have a MASSIVE respect for him. He has made sacrafices for this club, playing left back etc. He is a role model for the younger kids. Model pro, in his first season I was skeptical but man he is phenomenal. Showing players in their primes what determination and stamina can achieve.

Bit of fun, how would you guys rate our cms in a list from 1 to 7.i will start.

1 milner
2 fabhino
3 gini
4 aoc
5 hendo
6 keita
7 lallana.

And every single player is interchangeable. Same as our forwards mane can play lw, cf and no10, firmino can play standard cf, false nine and winger and also acm. Salah can play rw and cf. I wonder if he could play a no10? I think he could, but he wants goals.
