What a performance by the lads tonight, every player was superb.

Alisson had another quiet game but when called upon produced 2 great saves to deny Andre gray. Matip was brilliant today, I’m not his biggest fan but he was solid today. Van dijk put in a brilliant performance capped with 2 excellent headed goals!

Both fullbacks were superb, Robertson was back to his best after a sloppy first 20 mins and Trents delivery tonight was absolutely superb, the deliveries for the 1st and 4th goals were absolutely perfect.

Alexander Arnold would have been man of the match any other game but I thought Fabinho was outstanding yet again, he’s really made that position his own in the last few months and he’s right up there now as one of our most important players!

The front 3 were excellent tonight aswell.

Pressed send by mistake so I’ll finish it here:

The front 3 were excellent tonight aswell. I must admit, I was sceltical about origi’s involvement from the start but he was brilliant tonight, capping off his performance with a brilliant goal. Mane and salah tore the defence to shreds. 2 brilliant goals from mane, especially the 2nd which was a touch of genius following a poor touch. Salah couldn’t have done much more to score but he was back to his brilliant best tonight!

Hopefully that performance will put some supporters nerves at ease and prove to them that we are still well in this title race and we haven’t ‘bottled it’!

Really strong from the whole team, but Fabinho, Trent and Mane were awesome. Trent showed what a quality delivery can do but he was also helped by Salah looking threatening, creating the extra space for him to pick his spot, and Mane’s movement was superb all night.

The selection was a bit of a surprise so hats off to Klopp and it looks (like Ed01 said) that he’s carefully picking his battles and Man Utd was more about him ensuring we got the 1 point than any loss of confidence from the side. the energy and desire was hugely impressive tonight. The players look up for the fight after that performance, let’s hope we thrash the blues next.

Not sure if Origi was brilliant. It was obvious he was rusty as he slowed things down at times by taking too long to make a decision. Certainly grew into the though never stopped trying and even won the ball back at left back and his name echoed around Anfield because of his work rate. Sturridge definitely has more quality than Origi but I’d definitely pick Origi ahead of him as my Nan would put in more effort and she’s been dead 10 years.

Spot on, OP. That is the MOST complete perf. of the season, one where every single red was brilliant individually and as a group. The intensity and frenetic pace at which we played all game long was breathe-taking at times and Watford surprisingly, looked dead on their feet after 20 mins. By the hour mark, they were finished. Now that is LFC Heavy Metal Football.

Klopp said it earlier in the season. We have to change the way we play so as to have better control of proceedings BUT if push comes to shove, we will play or style of football cos we can do that too. That is what we did tonight.

Special mention to Divvy Origi who goal aside, was a man possessed. Origi showed that he may still have a future here cos his attitude, determination and will to work hard for the team has NEVER been in doubt, IMO. If I had to keep either him or Studge, I would keep him cos he is only 23 and can still have a fine career and if he can then, it should be with us. On to the Bitters.

Scootinio, I think origi was brilliant tonight and as for sturridge, I don’t think he does have more quality or at least I don’t think he does any more. He does nothing but walk around the pitch showing no effort as you said, hitting shots from 30 yards, he’s a shadow of the player he was 5 years ago.

Theres simply no excuse for sturridge to play again. Give Origi a go. He blows hot and cold but at least he puts himself about and gives it a go. Doesn’t shoot from 40 yards every time he picks up the ball either.

Origi out wide was a genius move from klopp - took a bit of pressure off him, gave him more time and space, and allowed our most in form forward Mane to step up to the plate. Well played sir.

Hmm Origi for me was still frustrating. Reacting to the play rather than anticipating it eg when Salah burst into the box and ended up hitting the post, Origi was watching it develop instead of sprinting into a position where he could be of use. I don't think its lack of desire - rather being unsure what to do. Noticeable when he got the ball he was much more certain about his role. He has talent and I really hope he makes it so hopefully he gets more game time and develops this understanding.

Up until the 60 minute mark i thought VVD was pretty average and was going to post how this was the first game i've seen Matip play better than him.
Then he scored two goals.

Origi was on the verge of exit and hasn’t kicked the ball in ages. What do you expect? He would again make way for Firmino.

How can anyone say we are not in the title race? WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE GOING INTO MARCH! Spurs are the team that look to have blown it.

{Ed0333's Note - Spurs will be lucky to hold on to 4th place at this rate.

Robbiesline that’s my point, we’re top and there is still fans moaning saying we’ve bottled it and they’ve made peace with city winning the league, it’s ridiculous!

JK_RED, I can guarantee you that some of them would rather be where Utd are, scrapping for CL footie and hoping to win a Cup they may or may not win rather than be top of the PL with 10 games to go. Why? Cos that is what they are used to and lack the "bottle" and courage and bravery to dream and aim higher so what do they do? They try to drag everyone else down with their negativity cos you know, misery loves company.
