Thanks eds
Again shows how poor our bench is. This summer is going to have to be a big spend. We need a lot better up front and a CB and a attacking midfielder for me.

Can't argue with most of that apart from I think you were a bit generous to Salah and Mane who both decided to have their worst games in a Liverpool shirt.
I also think you were a bit generous to United who were almost as bad us.
We didn't put them under any pressure and still they managed to misplace passes and yield possession.

Can’t argue with any of that Ed01. Let’s hope we get back in the groove tomorrow and are ready for Everton on Sunday.

Hard to argue really although I thought you were very generous with the 1.5 rating for Sturridge. I did as much to help the team from my couch at home. I also agree with your comments on the substitutions. Puzzling really. Thank you for the review and I'm sorry you had to watch that again.

Spot on, Ed with your analysis. I fully agree with all you said esp. with Salah. He is a top class player BUT like you said, not a miracle worker. Some of the passes into him were unplayable at times and others were not played into space for him to latch onto. As for the over the top balls to him, that is just giving away possession and frustrating.

I do think like it seemed the players were having issues executing what Klopp wanted cos even on TV, you could hear him screaming at them or making hand gestures to pass the ball out the back or thru midfield instead of hoofing it up field or making impossible passes to the forwards. Either way, the Studge change was a mistake and Keita definitely should have come on for Hendo cos Shaq lacked fitness having just come back from injury. Klopp went for a point hence, security first and when things changed, the sub choices did not help. Must do better.

Agree with all your points there, thanks Ed!

Are bench is not “poor” we have the quality Klopp didn’t bring on the right players at the right time!

We can’t just keep spending “big” and go buy a 30m player as back up.

Game wasn’t enjoyable we played with very little fight and nothing was going for us.

Subs could of won that game, but a point is a point and it’s one less game to play.

We move onto a more important game Watford!

Said before the game in my opinion the game would be won or lost in the midfield, personally didn't see any form of battle in the middle from either side. salah and mane were absolutely atrocious to be polite. I must say the atmosphere was very good and that seemed to Gee up some utd players. In terms of you ratings, I think Shaw probably deserved more than a 6.5,he played quite well I felt. Mctominay as well I thought you were being generous with an 8,didnt see much in him myself. Rashford for me was a 10,you could see him in clear pain but it never faulted his effort, exceptional effort from the lad, a new respect for him for sure. Totally agree with you saying Trent should have been bought on, milner was awful and offered nothing as an attacking threat, some of his set pieces were awful and you could see some Liverpool players getting annoyed when he was taking every set piece over himself. Salah and mane nowhere near anything MORE than a 1 for me. Passes were poor and salah and Sturridge for that matter spent more time on the floor than trying to score a goal. Why keita wasn't bought on is beyond me, just someone to go beyond the utd midfielders. Very disappointed with that performance.

'It is like he is playing an online game and has lag'

Hahaha, it's bloody right as well Ed mate, he makes me so nervous does Matip, the sooner young Gomez is back the better because Matip just isn't good enough, never was, isn't and never will be. I'd usually agree with most you write mate but a rating of 2 is a bit too generous, no? :) .

Agreed about Firmino as well, if he'd of remained injury free I genuinely believe we'd of won the game, it made a huge difference him getting injured. The team got slack and seemed demotivated.

Thanks for the review mate, hope you've had a good day!

The southern red.
Sturridge, Origi, Moreno, lallana, and matip as I would class him as a sub player are all poor players and need replacing. They have proven that they are not good enough to play for our level at Liverpool. You can put the ox in place of lallana.
We will need to invest in new players!

Spot on Eds1 I think the moment he put studge on Klopp put himself in a corner, should have brought Trent on and moved Millie to midfield and gone 442.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think he wanted to risk Trent unless absolutely necessary but he would have been better if possible.}

Shaq and Keita if he doesn't want to risk Trent was the ovbious one surprised sturrdige didn't get injuries the way the game was going.

Excellent analysis Ed01. Your best review till date. If you weren’t an editor, you would be ripped to shreds for such a review 😀😀.

{Ed001's Note - why would I?}

27 Feb 2019 04:14:04
Because you have criticised players in your review. And trust me you are dead spot on. I can’t agree more on Robertson. I don’t know what people see in him other than his aimless running. When was the last time he beat his man to put in a cross?

{Ed001's Note - everyone has been criticising players. He is not there to 'beat a man'. Why would he need to when he gets the ball in space to just put the ball in? His problem is that his crossing is awful, nothing to do with beating men.}

19.) 27 Feb 2019
27 Feb 2019 04:45:30
Agreed. His crossing is awful and his defending is even more dreadful especially at one on one. He just doesn’t take on his man nor hit the byline when the ball is passed to him. Never looked comfortable in reaching the touch line to give us the width.
Just my opinion.

{Ed001's Note - just bollox again. He ran in behind a few times against United, the ball did not always go to him or got passed too far away from him to reach mostly, but he does make the runs and that is not his problem at all.}

I agree with everything apart from Shaw, I thought he put in a MOTM performance. Salah was in his pocket the whole game unable to make any impact. I haven't re-watched the game but I just seem to remember it happening every 5 minutes.

{Ed001's Note - Salah was not really up against him, he was cutting inside and went past him a number of times into the packed centre of defence, Shaw did nothing to stop that. He also did absolutely nothing to stop crosses coming in, though he had time to close down Milner he stood off. As it happened Milner's crossing was woeful, but that was not because of anything Shaw did. Shaw was far from MOTM no idea why anyone would think that, but then I have no idea why Robertson is such a hero either.}

Robbo really has been off the boil lately. the frustrating thing with him is he has shown he has the ability to put a hell of a ball in but he the inconsistency in his delivery is really frustrating! something he needs to work on. he needs to get closer to his man to stop the crosses into the box and 1 v 1 his body shape seems off to me. him getting ripped by gnabry on a few occassions the other night really highlighted that. His attitude seems fantastic though so hopefully he can iron out these issues with time. Milner is not a RB so i have sympathy for him on he defensive side but no excuse for his woeful deliveries.
