I don't think we should be expecting so many expensive new signings this summer I think some will be replaced by youngsters already at the club, and maybe one or two big money signings at most. That isn't to say some on lower fees wouldn't arrive.

We have so much quality waiting to break though that between now and August I think the odd youngster is already being considered to replace some first teasers known to be leaving.

In terms of full back we know Moreno, Randall and Clyne will depart. However we have Hoever, Camacho, Lewis, Ayorro, Gallagher and Juanma waiting in the wings. I think full back is the most likely position a youngster comes through.

We also are expecting Origi, Sturridge, Lallana, Mignolet and possibly Milner to leave. I think it is here the bigger sums will be spent on players. Werner maybe with Brewster as a reserve?

In terms of midfield we've been linked with so many, plus we have Keita to hit form, and Chamberlain to come back.

Out of the linked players there's already Felix, Brandt, Fekir, Rabiot, Dembele etc. I think departures may determine who if any sign.

Keeper will be most tricky as it will be someone expected to sit the bench most of the season.

Teamers not teasers.

I think depending on who leaves, the HG quota will also play a part in who we look at bringing in.

I know it’s a cliche but some new faces are always needed. Just look how Gini has reacted to it. It’s the competition that stretches the existing players.

We have enough youngsters coming through. I’d like to see an experienced player come in and give us 2-3 seasons. Maybe CB coverage.

I think regarding the HG quota it appears that we will be promoting academy players up to replace those outgoing rather than spend £30-40 million on a HG player (Bournemouth paying for Solanke is a good example of wasted money for HG) . Sturridge, Milner, Lallana and Moreno can/ will be replaced by Wilson, Brewster, Woodburn and Adam Lewis etc etc. It will be great to see the academy players in with a shot of making the first team squad.

I think James maddison would be a great buy.

Red911, James Maddison has to show that he can hack it at the PL level for a few more years before he can claim to make the step up to a title challenger CL contender, which we currently are. No more one season wonders, I'm afraid. We of all people know how badly those types of signings can go.

{Ed001's Note - I said James Maddison was special last season mate, he is good enough. I got a fair amount of stick for putting him in my top 10 attacking midfielders, but I stand by that, the lad is class.}

Buying players should be about ability not how long they've played or how old they, he would fit the way we play .

Better than over paying for foreign player who haven't played in the premier league.

We really will win things won't we having a load of academy players on the bench versus City's quality experienced players won't we?

Why don't people think before they open their mouths.

What we spend depends on which of the front three players leave and when, keep the squad together and I'd be shocked if we spent more than £40 million, keep the squad together and really strengthen with a top class centre half right back and attacking midfielder then as I've said previously I'd thaw a little towards the club's owners, but that won't happen.

Maddison is good but David Brooke is better.

City have a few academy players in their squad aswel Hessle like Foden and Zinchenko, and Pep may well bring a couple more through over the next few years. im all for going for top players to help us compete but the likes of Sturridge, Lallana, Origi, Moreno and Mugs hardly need a load of cash being spent by the club to replace now do they.

Just my take on that I see it as fragments as in ones certain to leave ones likely to leave so I’d say.

Moreno. Juanma, Gallagher, Lewis (one of) to replace.

Clyne. Camacho, Ayorro or Hoever (one of) to replace.

Lallana. Wilson, Grujic or a new signing (one of) to replace.

Sturridge. Werner (possibly) to replace.

Origi. Brewster to replace.

Mignolet. New signing to replace.

I’d say above are definite departures, and below some maybes.

Milner. Grujic, Wilson or new signing to replace.

Matip or Lovren. New signing to replace. (We’d all love De Ligt but don’t see it) .

Then there’s a cluster of youngsters who will likely be moved on next window such as Randall, Kent, Ejaria, Ojo, Chiravella, Woodburn (possibly) and maybe Wilson.

That sounds about right Jonesred.

A couple of tweaks:

I think we may get a firs team RB to allow TAA some chances in midfield too. I reckon Wan Bissaka would be ideal.

I’d also throw Alderwereild into the mix for CB. I reckon one of Matip or Lovren will definitely leave this summer.

I also think Milner will (sadly) go to Leeds. I think Rabiot on a free will come in.

Grujic may go depending on preseason. I’d like to see both Wilson and Kent stay with us and be bench options alongside Werner next season.

So, Werner, Alderwereild, new Gk (probably older), Wan Bissaka and Rabiot for me this summer.

A large clear out and we, ’re probably looking at a net spend of a lot less than £50m, imho.

Waro, if the the club got a center half, right back and attacking mid for 40 million I bet you would be calling the owners cheap.

I think Waro is talking of net spend, AussieMark.

I think we will see 2/ 3 big signings. Add when you're strong.
