A very good read Ed thank you mate, I must admit I have mixed feelings about him having taken on board your points about his weaknesses. Might be very good though in a few years. Any teams looking at him seriously?

{Ed001's Note - yes but I forget who now. Ed002 told us on the editors' widget about a few looking at him, so I decided to do a player profile on him, meaning to save the list he gave us but I forgot sorry.}

Thanks Ed001 and thanks for requesting Ed002!

Its interesting as on one hand it sounds like he would suit Liverpool quite well. Playing for Benfica, a team that has most of the ball and therefore not having much pressure defensively (sounds familiar! ) Also, having the passing ability to connect the defence to the attack and speeding up our play is exactly one of Gomez's strengths and something I think we have missed in his absence. It looks like he also has the speed to do well against counter attacking teams that we so often face (specifically at Anfield) .

On the other hand, the point on his physicality is a big weakness. Espcially for the premier league. I wonder if he'd have the work ethic and eagerness to work on this and bulk up for the likes of Mitrovic or Rondon. He'd have to work on his tackling as well from the sound of it. Although working in training with VVD against the likes of Salah and Mane would surely help this, you'd hope anyway.

Could be worth the risk. With Jurgen's transfer record I have every faith!
