Morning eds1
After watching salah’s goal for the 20th time this morning because it’s so good (that back heel from bobby wow! ) got me thiing it all started from a throw in. So do you think we have improved under our throw in coach at all. I know joe was throwing a long ball into the box whilst playing for England and we scored from it and afterwards they put it all down to this coaching.

{Ed001's Note - the movement is much better, so yes.}

Well that’s good to know.
just to add on the salah goal the ball through from keita to bobby was outstanding 👌🏻.

Think Bobby's back heel was so outrageously good, people forgot how great Keitas pass was.
Thought he was terrific yesterday.

someone summed up for me about throw-ins recently thought it's quite cool:

Long throw - this is intended to cause havoc, esp in the penalty box aka Rory Delap style. in the team, Gomez is capable of that.

Fast throw - this is to catch defences off guard when the ball is out of play. it requires players to be very switched on when the ball goes out of play, and of course, for the thrower to get to the ball as quickly as possible while the others make the right movement. it utilizes the rule that you can't be offside from a throw-in.

Clever throw - this is setting up the throw as though its a freekick/ corner with specific player positioning and movement that will result in creating space/ chance.

And the acronyms turn out to be LFC!

Of course this is a very simplified version. those more learned in this area went on to share how its not just ball retention and getting the play going, its part of a pattern of play, an intentional move for specific purposes, etc.

I for one learned a lot and am amazed that a seemingly tiny facet of the game can have such significant effects.

Keita did well but he’s still a work in progress in Liverpool’s midfield.
Bournemouth must have one of the slowest defences in the league and they’re almost tailor-made for our front three.
Depending on injuries, I have a feeling Klopp will go for the two deeper midfielders at Utd which would probably mean Fabinho and Henderson as ideal first choices.
You’d think Keita would then be on the bench for that one, which seems about right I think.
Perhaps he could play a fuller role against Munich though, he should certainly be familiar with them.

{Ed001's Note - only Cook lacks pace in the Cherries backline, the rest are very quick. Not sure how that makes them one of the slowest defences in the league. Smith is particularly quick.}

It must be Cook that leaves a lasting impression then Ed001, or our lads seem to target him and his defensive channel very well as he got blown away down at their place too.

{Ed001's Note - it is a lack of organisation meaning they are all over the place and constantly out of position, so Cook ends up being left on his own with no cover. Ake is dog turd defensively.}
