Thanks for that ed1 - very interesting and fully agreed.
Small improvement suggestion for the site - I keep on missing your reviews, articles and ed2 when he drops a sharkpod.
Maybe you folks can checke on an alert system to let people know as soon as event x has happened?
You think we "have the the technology, we can (re) build it. "? 😀

Thx again!

{Ed001's Note - you can sign up for an email when an article is posted on FNV. Not sure if we have something for sharkpods or profiles though.}

All in all pretty accurate, just shows that we need a better bench.

I’d say pretty much spot on there eds. I would maybe have mane a little higher.
Clearly shows and it’s not hard for everyone to see that we have got some big work to do in the summer because there is a fair few players that need to be moved on and replace with quality players.

A good read Ed appreciate your work mate. Only thing I would question mate is Matip only 1.5, has he been that bad?

{Ed001's Note - yes, he is weak as a newborn kitten but slower and keeps giving the ball away when he lumbers forward. Teams are deliberately dropping off when he has it to entice him to make a run, knowing he will just hand them back the ball. Problem is he is too stupid to notice they are doing it and so falls into the trap repeatedly.}

It's only when i reached the end of the article, I realized that you had written the article based on my request. Thanks a ton Ed001, very much appreciated.

I agree with you on the whole. Just a little curious as to why you have rated Mane lower than Salah. There have been many a game where Mane has pulled us out of the fire (with a goal or two) and Salah has been firing blanks. I also feel Mane's game is more all-round than Salah's. Even though we agree that Salah is more of a goal poacher.

Where is the Matip of the first half of the season when he first joined? Was he that good or was everyone else in defense, that bad? 😵.

{Ed001's Note - sorry mate, I had included the full message you posted in the article to show why I had written it but Ed033 assumed I had just put it in to explain to him what the article was about. My fault as I forgot to put a title to it. Hence the terrible one that he came up with!

Salah has scored more goals, so had more of a positive effect, plus his attitude in giving up the chance to score more to give someone else the chance and the fact that his sheer presence terrifies defences into double cover of him leaves huge gaps for the others.

As for Matip, he was lucky van Dijk carried him imo.}

Always great to read your articles Ed001. I however disagree on Mane and Robertson ratings. As you said Robertson up until 2 games ago. Which is a little harsh as lots of players with higher ratings have had far worse than just 2 games. Anyway really intriguing article that brings debate 💪.

{Ed001's Note - those players who had far worse than 2 never cost us those 2 games though. Robertson, sadly, was at fault for giving away a needless free kick against Leicester and his dreadful delivery threw away the win against the Hammers. I mean you get double figures of chances to put the ball in and waste them all and you have to hold your hand up and expect to be criticised at this level.

He did redeem himself yesterday a bit though, as he was good again. But it is based on the effect a player has on results.}

Personally i would have Robbo and Matip slightly higher and Keita slightly lower but they are small, subjective margins so on the whole id pretty much agree with your assessment, Ed.
Do you think Gini is a confidence player? It seems that his performances are getting better and better and im just wondering if he's feeding off the public accolades?

{Ed001's Note - definitely, when he does something good, you can see how his game grows.}

Well, im expecting a lot from him against Munich then as he was sensational last night. Klopp said he was only just recovering from an illness at both ends too.

{Ed001's Note - it was good to see him back, he is turning into a vital part of the team.}

Additional question, Ed001. Whom would you take and place into the team, right now? The (uninjured and in full form) Ox or the (uninjured and in full form) Keita?

I would take the Ox. After reading all the posts on here about wanting Coutinho back, I realized that people wanted the success of the second half of last season. And a lot of it came from Ox successfully replacing Coutinho, in my opinion.

{Ed001's Note - Keita at his best was better than Ox, but Ox was improving before his injury, so might potentially outstrip him in the long run. However, Keita, on their best performances to date, would be my choice.}

Great read - think it’s pretty much spot on Ed, however agree perhaps Mane seems a little harsh. He’s the one player that seems to step up when the team is going through a bit of a January slump and has scored some crucial goals this season.

Thanks again, Ed001. 👍.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate, thanks for the suggestion, sorry it took a while.}
