Ed001 what's your honest thoughts on some of the excuses Klopp has come up with recently. Blaming the grass for being too long, pitches being too dry, the wind and snow etc. Not to mention this snow in the penalty box incident v Leicester.

I love Klopp and clearly he is an intelligent man and personally I don't think he believes any of these excuses and is using it to potentially shield the team. But it's making him and the club look a little silly. What's wrong with saying we didn't perform to our best and sadly we didn't get the win or the opposition played well but we move onto the next game. Other clubs are not wanting us to win the title and some of these excuses are giving them more ammo and to be honest you cannot defend the indefensible. Interested to hear other posters thoughts as well.

{Ed001's Note - I really don't care and don't listen to press conferences etc anyway. They really are irrelevant. Most of those excuses he actually have a point about and he never 'blamed' them, just mentioned them as an issue. I am surprised you even see this as anything other than media bull to fill back pages with crap.}

I mean, those are pretty standard 'excuses'. Most managers aren't going to come out and slam the team in public. And if you think those are silly, what about managers like Ferguson blaming the team's third kit for a loss, and Houllier saying that Fowler's celebration was inspired by some Cameroonian grass eating ritual he learned from Rigobert Song?

{Ed025's Note - that last one was a whopper..

Can never understand Lfc "supporters" only dying to post about something ridiculous in the hope an Ed or two might agree with him, they were nothing comments by a manager who generally doesn't make excuses. The club doesn't look silly, they're top of the league with the best manager around! enjoy.

Little Naby I don’t require the need for an Ed to agree with me I have my own opinions and mindset. I can never understand the snowflakes who seem to get offended or upset by people making comments on a comment group. Each to their own hey.

Yeah, basically don't take any notice of press conferences. As long as the team does the business that's all that counts. and it's sad when people do creep up to the eds. terrible. By the way ed. have you had your teeth done? You look great. And that waistcoat totally rocks with your chino's.

{Ed001's Note - I need to switch off that webcam obviously.....

{Ed033's Note - Maybe Roller was talking about ED025.}

Come on guys. You should realize these pre and post game press conferences are nothing but glorified PR events designed to build up suspense and interest in the games. That's all they're good for. They can't all be serious and full of accurate info. Imagine being a manager and having to do 76 of those in a season. Would you take each and every one seriously and blurt out the truth and nothing but the truth? The facts are helpful (who's playing and who's not) but all else is mostly mind games and posturing for the media to reprint.

Tbh, if I were a manager I think I'd enjoy the pressers the most. Our PR man would love trying to tie down the circles I'd try to run around the media.

{Ed0333's Note - what?

Just enjoy the positives, don't look for negatives that aren't there. Im not even getting stressed watching this title race. what's better, battling it out with city or just waiting for another season to peater out, looking forward to the summer's signìgs in February like we usually do?

Mcgoveb I should mate 🙄. I’ll just go back to not posting anything that raises debate and just read how rosey everything is and how we are guaranteed to win the league again this year.

Agreed ed01. These press conferences and pundit talk have to fill 5 minutes of television time, so people who are not exactly Oxford educated come up with half arsed theories and spit words out without really thinking about it.

Come on guys, let's spare the OP some slack. It's been a boring transfer window, the team's been doing well and is looking settled. We all need something to talk about, even if it's splitting hairs!

To each their own. Talking about the pitch etc always reminds me of an old Ranieri press conference when he was the Chelsea manager. The pitch was full mud like, and he said something like "Life is a beach" at the end of the game - such a crack up!
