Ed001 if your about. What do you think is going on with Naby. We’ve unfourtantley only seen glimpses of his undeniable quality, but games like last night he’s quiet, dosent have an effect on the game we’d hope for. The talent is there, we’ve seen abit of it. Why not more consistently? Is it purely a confidence thing? Find myself desperate to see Naby inpact every game he starts lol. Thanks Ed!

{Ed001's Note - he has barely had a chance yet. Nothing is going on other than people jumping to knee jerk assessments of a player who has had a season disrupted by injury.}

I had little problem with his performance last night and felt he came off at the point he was just starting to grow into it.

People need to cut Naby some slack, keeping in mind he has spent a fair chunk this season out injured, has spent a few games in unfamiliar position (e. g. LW two games back) and is adjusting to a new league.

I'm saving judgement until we see him get a solid run of games.

MrSox87, I too thought Naby did OK last night. I would have liked to see him driving forward with the ball a bit more, like he did when he was fouled in the penalty area by Pereira when he looked certain to score, but I am sure that will come.

ed001 what did you think about the selectin last, I think playing nabby, Shaqiri and the front 3 was a little to attacking and when lost the ball we was very open to the counter attack. We did look a lot more solid when Fabinho came on. do think the goal we gave away with Robertson flying forward that late on in the half is something the team has got to learn from to have better game management late on in games.

{Ed001's Note - the goal was nothing to do with anything other than Robbo's stupidity.}

Ed001 van dike was at fault as much as anyone for ball watching to.

{Ed001's Note - the fault was Robbo's for doing a Moreno style assault needlessly on a player that was boxed in and going nowhere and so giving away a free kick.}

Exactly right Edo1, Robbo giving away a cheap free kick and right on half time too, which gave Leicester a boost and probably had the opposite effect on our players.

Completely his fault, a rare act of selfish petulance for giving the ball away before hand. I hope that incident alone will sharpen minds as it shows what a lack of concentration and thought can cost you. It was one of those moments when as soon as he did it I said “oh no”, it felt obvious it was going to result in a goal.

I think Naby has shown several times now that he can be a class player for us. What’s missing right now is confidence. In the first half yesterday you could see him playing simple one touch passes only. I am sure Klopp said something to him at half time because in the second half he was imposing himself a lot more. He started running with the ball and showing a greater range of passing. He just needs to continue building up his confidence which will happen once he has a run of 4-5 games at a stretch.

Spot on, Ed. I can't believe the type of negativity people are showing towards Naby. Those of us who have seen him play for a long period at RBL know how good he is and are not worried. it is the spoiled petulant fans who believe in instant gratification and instant success, who have no stomach to supprt their own player during a bedding period, that are causing a fuss for no reason. We have seen several glimpses of what Naby can do and saying the contrary, is just a rejection of truth and facts, end of. He will get all the time he needs and his haters will have to get over it and most importantly, themselves. IMO, Naby was solid last night and had we not had limited options on the bench, he prolly would have stayed on.

As for the game last night, that foul by Robbo was dumb and selfish. Had Moreno done that, he would be roasted on here and rightly so hence, it is only normal/ fair that he gets the same treatment here. Also, those blaming VVD for it need to go watch it again and this time, use their eyes and an open mind instead of trying to blame someone who had nothing to do with it.

Iv just watched it again RedWolf. The defensive line pushed up when the ball went out and VVD was completely unaware Maguire was behind him therefore some blame can be apportioned to him in my opinion. Admittedly Robbo should never have made the foul and some blame can be apportioned to him. Personally I don’t know why we even bothered getting the ball forward when there was a minute left on the clock and Matip and VVD had no pressure on them and could of just passed between themselves until the whistle blew for half time as they were doing until the ball went out to the left. It just increased the chances of losing the ball giving them a chance to attack. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter who’s fault it is, it was a draw, we still gained a point on city and we move on to West Ham.

Spot on, Frankie. 5 points ahead is not what we all wanted BUT we'll take it esp. since City bricked it big time vs Newcastle. On to the next game. YNWA!

Ed1 those are the fouls I hate the most. Player facing wrong way, no danger on our goal yet our guy chops him down. The ones at the other end of the pitch where we have their defenders penned in until someone gets impatient and brings em dow irk me too!

{Ed001's Note - same here, they are the most idiotic of all. So pointless, just wait and force them into making something happen.}
