Mancity get an extra game in GW 25 and will now get a chance to play before us for every gw excluding one till the end of march. This is not good as playing first is always better.

However Arsenal (h) Everton (A) Chelsea (h) in the space 8 days will be really tough and if they come away with wins in all of them then they will need some stopping.

I think MK made the point recently that while the timing of matches can be of significance in ordinary title run ins, where both teams will look to “manage” their relative positions ensuring they don’t drop more points over a weekend than their rivals, this season is unique - in that the both teams involved are exceptional - that they should not expect to have the privilege of dropping points at any stage while hoping to clinch the title. Therefore we should just ignore the table and Man City and aim to win all the remaining matches. CIty are capable of taking 45 points from their remaining 15 games. So we should aim to take at least 42.

Really don't think it makes much of a difference though. Far more depends on how Klopp approaches each game and prepares the team with tactics, training and game-day lineup. But I can see how who plays first, worries fans and supporters, because it's something to worry about. 😉.

we went through this a couple of days ago, just concentrate on winning our games. we do that and we're champions. City have far more pressure - they literally cannot afford to drop a single point whether they play before or after us!

The pressure I feel is equally difficult for both teams. The pressure they are under to win knowing that if they slip up they then hand the ball over to us. Then equally if City win then the pressure then is on us to match there result. There are pros and cons for both going first or second.

Hanif, you worded it so much better than I did but that's exactly what I was getting at. Spot on mate.

The relaxed atmosphere I sense coming from Mel Wood, I really don't see it being an issue. Conversely, City will feel massive pressure to win games against Chelsea etc know ING we have home games against mid table teams.

Our team should be focusing on their own next game, not citehs.

Not sure their game against Everyone would be classed as tough.

I think there is pressure on both teams but if you’re challenging for the big trophies then you need to manage that pressure.
It can work for you or against you but I think this Liverpool team performs better with the pressure on.
Remember us winning at home to PSG then going to Napoli with the pressure off and losing with a very limp performance. So we then smash Red Star at home and then away with the pressure off we lose with another limp performance.
With the pressure then on against Napoli at home, a great performance and should’ve been about 5-0.

Willing to bet it's going to come down to us needing a point against Wolves on the last game of the season. Salah get's a straight red for diving (even though he didn't) . Down 1-0, Firmino get's fouled for a PK in injury time, Klopp subs himself in as a player and takes the PK, smashes it into the top right corner. Crowd goes wild, Klopp runs into the stands and downs a couple of pints with the fans, red carded for excessive celebration, final whistle blows and we all flood the site to ask the eds about random 100m plus players we'll be purchasing in the summer now that we've won the league.

{Ed025's Note - most of that is believable mate...except the bit where salah dived of course as that is so out of character.. :)

Didn't we address this a couple of days ago? Either way OP, there are NO advantages or disadvantages by playing first. Proof? City have played lots of times before we did and that did not stop us from winning the games by playing after they did. We only lost 4 points (two draws vs Chelsea and Arsenal away) after City played first and we were still neck and neck with them. Hence, this is a non-advantage. It's just media nonsense trying to gt guys wound up and get more clicks.

This is only disadvantage if people think it is. If you are Klopp and the players, then this means nothing. People just believe in this nonsensical stuff cos they think it makes a diff and the media peddle that stuff as well. It does not, never has and never will.

It only makes a diff. if the manager and the players are NOT focused, prepared and fully concentrated on the game they have in front of them, all the things Klopp and the team have been doing since the season began. The media is going to beat this dead horse till the end. If people allow it to get to them then that is their choice.
