Cheers Ed, what's your opinion on Henry's time managing Monaco? Don't really follow French football too closely, but obviously he's not even had the new manager bounce in performance.

{Ed001's Note - he is never a manager. Henry is known for being a difficult person who cannot relate to others, he is in the wrong job.}

Yeah Henry was a strange one, whenever I have seen him as a pundit, he never came across as someone who could convey his ideas easily. Shame, he is one of my fav players and I hoped he would do ok. Out of interest ed, how is viera doing, he seems more cerebral and circumspect than Henry.

{Ed001's Note - difficult to say, it has been mixed so far, results have not been terrible but not good either but he had been lumbered with Balotelli. However he does use an insane amount of players, he used 50 different ones in 2 and a bit seasons with NYCFC and has already used 26 at Nice. That, imo, is never a good sign. Has the look of a man who is unable to find what he wants from the players he has and so constantly changes them.}

Henry is still banned from my local. Cheers for that ed mate, hope your well.

{Ed001's Note - not that the Irish hold a grudge huh aolah?}

Yeah that's far too many changes for a team to be able to settle and build a rhythm and actually get to know each others games. If I was going into management I would seek a mentor to learn from much like Gerrard's has done with klopp.

Altho klopp himself has said he can only advise so far, managers have to make their own mistakes and learn and grow from them. I like klopp lol.

{Ed001's Note - I am not convinced by Gerrard either to be honest. Not sure ex-pros like Vieira and Gerrard have the same desire and work ethic that has made the likes of Klopp so good. I mean Klopp went and got a degree in sports science and carries on reading up on developments etc. Gerrard is still old school and will be taking time to himself in the evenings. Like I said with Rodgers, the top guys just don't have time to live, their life is the game and nothing else really comes into it. If they have time to slip it to a bird on the side, then they are not dedicated enough.}

Hey at least we received compensation from fifa over the whole matter. That certainly eased the pain and helped the country move on as a whole.

{Ed001's Note - I can see that your local has moved on.}

Thanks for the read. I also agree about gerrard. He was never really a vocal captain if I recall correctly so found it odd when he went into management.
Out of interest ed, are there any current/ recently retired players whom you think have the potential to be good managers?

{Ed001's Note - I can't think of any off the top of my head sorry.}

No worries Ed. Have a good day. :)

{Ed001's Note - it is likely to be players from outside the top echelons in future.}

Henry was a poor appointment from the get go. Getting him in for the sake of sentiment has backfired massively. If they are rehiring Jardim, they should have trusted him to fix the problems they are having.

What about lamps? Always thought he was switched on, and seems a little more personable that Gerrard, Henry etc. Seems to be doing well at derby, but Ashley Cole seems an odd one.

Spot on, Ed01. Henry is in the wrong job if relating to others is weakness for him. Monaco hired him cos they tried to channel the same emotional reaction that hiring a club legend as manager could bring like it is doing for OGS at Utd. BUT you have to actually know what you are doing and be able to relate to players. As a player, Henry was always all about himself whether it be at Arsenal or with Les Bleus and if you are that full of yourself then you won't have time for anyone else. Not convinced about SG either BUT he is still young and has time to improve BUT as ED01 said, you have to be dedicated to the game and be a sponge, taking in as much info and advise as possible in order to be one of the best.

Lampard is doing it at Derby though, not quite the same as Monaco!
