Really interesting read about a difficult period in the club's history. Just think, if Shanks had to work under that board of the time would we have been robbed of the dynasty he produced at the club?

{Ed001's Note - he would not have taken the job unless he was given the freedom to pick the team, hence why he was never going to get it then. Still I do agree, he would have been hampered by the board and he might have been unable to build what he did.}

Excellent read Ed. It's really refreshing to get an insight into the club from back then and see what's different and what's remained.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, it is interesting doing the research and just seeing the same complaints repeated time and time again about the next generation being lazier and having too much stuff to occupy their time!}
