Ed mate, has Brendan Rogers ever tried to take Markovic to Celtic.
Surely he must rate him as he wasted a ridiculous amount of money on him.

I don’t understand how no one wants him, he had spells where he was okay, not Liverpool quality, but good enough for mid table European teams. I’d take a punt on him for 10-15 million if I was a Europa league quality team like sporting or a Spanish club.

{Ed002's Note - No one will pay that for him - he can sign a pre-contract agreement for nothing. Liverpool have wrecked his career - and paid handsomely to do it.}

Ed why was Markovic never given a chance. He played a handful of games but never seemed to have been given a fair shot. Klopp doesn't seem to rate him at all. He came with a big reputation and must have some talent. why hasn't it worked for him. I believe at this stage we should just let him go on a free for the sake of his career.

They paid over the odds (noting he could have been purchsed for €7.5M the previous summer and chose not to), with very, very high agent fees, a significant amount of money being passed to a third club, and they gave him a deal that included very serious additional payments for "image rights". And it was downhill from there.}

I remember Ed02 saying Marko was not ready for the big jump when BR splurged on him. Chelsea had first option on him for a lower fee and even they did not take him. That should have been a clue to not bother with him at the time BUT we know that did not happen. We also could have sold him off a couple of years ago but the club stupidly priced him out of moves and a chance to go further his career elsewhere. Now, Ed02 has described perfectly how the mistakes of the past can affect not just the club BUT the player himself. No wonder, LFC pays the highest amount of agent fees in the PL. It is for doing dumb stuff like this.

Ed02 called this one 100% before we signed him. If I recall rightly he said Chelsea passed on him.

He did show glimpses in a game against Sunderland where he was the best player on the field and in a few other games. He has been terribly managed and I include Rodgers, Klopp and the loanee clubs.

We need to cut our losses and let him go.

Terribly managed? He’s not an animal who needs to be trained in how to behave!
He needs to work harder to get in the team! Simple! Why does everyone feel sorry for a kid who’s basically mugged us off for 5 years taking a wage that we could be paying someone who actually wants to knuckle down and help the team?
Football is big business and there’s no room for shrinking violets at the top of the game. The lad needs to man up and take some responsibility for the way his career has gone. Its nobody’s fault but his own.

I saw the game against spurs against benfica when he was the best player on the pitch and every time he got the ball you always thought something was going to happen. Ed002 did call it when he said Chelsea didn't think he was ready and could have got him for a fraction of the price. It's not his fault liverpool paid over 20million for him. He has talent. He ripped spurs apart that night. It's concerning he's done so bad on loan at other clubs tho.

{Ed0333's Note - I think there’s blame to be attached on both sides. In hindsight we overpayed for him but you have to understand at that time we weren’t the attractive option for players we are now. We had to take a punt on prodigious talent as established world class players didn’t really see Liverpool as a favorable route. Also Markovic didn’t cover himself with glory, he went on numerous loans surely a coach somewhere could have channeled his talents? I think we’ll just have to forget about this expensive mistake and move on and hope history doesn’t repeat itself with others players
