Ok I really want to move away from this madness of transfer season to our excellent season.

nobody imagined it beginning of the season in there wildest imaginations.
I would encourage members and fans in general to please focus on the season and not get carried away by who we sign in Jan or summer or what the state of finances are. let's just leave these things to people who are supposed to handle them and enjoy our phenomenal season and pray and support the club so that we can the lift that premier league trophy. This team deserves it. Its not one player this time around like torres or suarez, its the entire team that has pulled their act collectively as a group. This is something that has never transpired at LFC since our golden days. Liverpool grinding out results, liverpool getting them penalties, so much has gone our way this season and kudos to the players and whole management for playing like champions. long it may continue.
I hope people understand it is no mean feat dethroning Mancity. i just can't believe how relaxed i am watching LFC defend. Last year and a half i went half bald because of our defending. Now we have been just excellent. Onwards to palace and hammers at Anfield . i hope we win these games and get our hands firmly on that title.

Great post that mate, refreshing to see such a post after recent BS about players we'll never sign and finances etc. I couldn't care less what's going on in the background, if we sign a player we support them no matter what but for now all I'm bothered about is watching how great this team are doing, I'm enjoying the present and looking forward to the future!

Fingers crossed for a Wolves win tonight!

Some people seem to be more excited by the possibilty of transfers than what's happening on the pitch.
I can never get my head round that one frankly.

i am so excited about the season were having and tbh im here cause of the community rather than rumours (i know even the site name has rumours on it) .

i don't really think we need anyone urgently, we just need to be abit more lucky with injuries! can't wait for the next game.

Well I agree, sort of! I wouldn't expect any big signings this window as it is difficult to get what you want, what you really really want (bit of Spice Girls for Ed01 there, I know he's a fan) . So we should really be concentrating on getting players fit and prepared for the run in. Long term (this Summer), we should be trying to add quality to our squad and not just the first 11. Macca made a good point about a quality player rotating with the front 3, it makes sense. In this League if you don't keep on adding good players you go backwards. There are a lot of players possibly on their way out in the Summer, so unless we have a heap of good kids coming thru and ready, which I don't think we have then we need to invest to replace them and, for me they would need to be better or at least the potential to be better than who we are shipping out.

Dont want to read much into Macca's post, yes as a fan he wishes for a good striker to rotate around with, but that is a wish. Macca has not suggested that LFC are in to buy someone like that, and people are assuming and twisting words sometimes which leads to some real heat on the forum, ultimately resulting in abuse.
We are here to discuss transfers and that leads to a discussion on finances and I do get it. It is supposed to be a website to serve that very purpose.
But the situation is very different today, we are in the midst of a season that LFC have not witnessed ever. Let us just enjoy that for a change. Why would you want any considerate change in a squad that has performed on a level better than city! Yes we may need players, but why do we need to shout out random names and then abuse each other and particularly the editors for fictional thinking of our own. Its baseless. We can afford to just relax and enjoy the season this time around. the performance of these group of warriors we have has made it possible for us. How many times has this happened? never! So let's just keep our transfer thoughts to ourselves and cheer and support this team to achieve the unprecedented. What happens elsewhere should not bother us.

{Ed025's Note - just one thing akshit, when you say "in the midst of a season that LFC have not witnessed ever"...were you not about in the 80,s mate?....it happened just about every season..

no ed025, born in 89, unlucky to have not witnessed the golden era. the treble and the greatest CL win ever in history are my only highs from a tough time as a LFC fan. My dad loved LFC and i got it from him. but he stopped watching after the roy period still doesn't cuz he thinks it might be a curse. we had ngog as our main striker, haha its a good laugh now, but boy was that a time. konchesky, ngog, that rb i think it was degen and i think it was poulsen in midfield. maxi rodriguez was my favourite at that time! slim pickings then. or maybe i have co-incided everything. Boy have we come far and how.

{Ed025's Note - you missed out big time mate, worst years of my life of course.. :)

Dont forget ED025 football only started around 1992 according to those digging at us, always makes me laugh that 'never won a premier league comment', saw some on twitter yesterday calling Souness for not having won a premier league medal, what?! do some reading.

{Ed025's Note - i know mate, i remember when merseyside was the envy of every supporter and we ruled the roost, maybe the reds will be the start of getting us back to where we belong mate..

My Ed025. So who was the biggest Monster in your nightmares? Ian rush? I believe he had a knack of scoring against Everton, especially in finals.

But I concur with the comments above. Your nightmares just might be returning for an extended period.

{Ed025's Note - rushie was a pain in the neck to us sg, he was a freak (in the best possible sense) who started the defending from the front concept, he had this awful knack of scoring as well...especially against us mate..

Ed 25, football only started in 92 anyway. :)

{Ed025's Note - to the young pups it did robbo...mind you they think they invented sex as well mate.. :)

"In the midst of a season we've not witnessed EVER" what are you talking about? You do know we've won the league 18 times don't you! Or did football only ever start in 1992 when the name changed to the premiership for you? It changed its name again to the Premier league is that the beginning of football maybe?

I don't know how old you are, but years ago there was a chocolate bar called marathon the name changed in the late 80's early 90's to snicker, its the same bar of chocolate same ingredients (smaller like, what a rip off) just a different name, see where I'm going with this. Can't believe what some people write on here at times 🙈.

Ed025, i'm sure he was. i remember seeing some old video whereby interviews were conducted in the city of Liverpool about the departure of Rush to Juve and a man said 'thank God! '. to which the interviewer wisely guessed he was an Evertonian.

wonder what will you do to get someone like a Graeme Sharp, Alan Ball and Southall in the current team?

{Ed025's Note - personally....dig maggie thatcher up and make love to her live on granada reports.. :)

A lot of good old fellas on the site :) get the gist not the words.
I wasn't blessed enough to enjoy Liverpool in the 70's and 80's. This season for me is the best I have witnessed.

We’ve had a few seasons like this in fairly recent times - 2013/ 4 was a good one, also I remember when Ged had his heart surgery we were top of the league around this time too.

Great thread, lads. We have had seasons like this in the past BUT the 13/ 14 season was not one of them. personally, I was never convinced that we would win the league UNTIL we went into the final game with a chance to win the PL with a win. That team was built on quicksand and w there was NO structure or direction coming from the manager and as a result, I knew that we could get unstuck with no way of coming back cos I did not trust BR. Hence, we we stumbled and handed City the title, I was non too fussed cos well, I wasn't buying it to begin with. This tho, is different.

I am so excited about our season as well cos anyone who watched the City game would tell you that THAT was some next level PL footie stuff, right there. i mean, the footie on show in terms of skill, tactics, intensity, passion etc was off the charts. It showed the utter gulf in class between both teams and the rest of the league. The chasm is that big.

I am just happy that my team is on the same level as City and Klopp and the boys made that happen. Even those who don't play for us anymore who were around when Klopp arrived, helped as well. Where this season takes us, I don't know BUT as long as we get to be top of the PL after every game for as long as possible, I am good with that.

We were top of the league with 3 games left.

That’s a better position than we are in now Red Wolf.

You're right, Ron and I still wasn't buying it then cos things were out of control on the pitch and in the stands. There was no structure, no order nor any management from the coach. In fact, it was his job to keep things calm as Klopp is doing now. He did not and I saved myself unnecessary heartbreak.

Like I said, I would only have believed it had we had a chance to win the league with a win at Anfield vs Newcastle. It did not happen and I was at peace with it then as I am at peace with it now. Guess what? The very same notion applies to this season where we have a far better team and a far better manager.
