Hi Ed001 wanted to get your opinion on something. I believe we need that one extra player to complete the team like a De Bruyne. Was really hoping Fekir would be the one but obviously we messed up and Shaqiri was signed instead and I like Shaqiri but he's not that player same goes with Ox. If you get what I'm saying what players would you consider realistically? I go back and forth whether its an AM or a ST we should go for.

{Ed001's Note - I think we already have the players we need. I just don't see this obsession with always needing to buy, the coaches should be able to get what we have working better over time. When the summer comes, then we can think again, after trimming some of the fringe players from the squad.}

Top of the league by 7 points, in the CL knockout stages, lot one premier league game all season. what's this ‘missing’ player going to add exactly? The Caribou cup?

Thats a fair point I think I'm still caught up with Fekir probably time to move on. Thanks for the response Ed001 enjoy what's left of the weekend!

{Ed001's Note - Fekir has been awful this season, he was given the hook at the weekend after what is being called the worst performance of his career. We need to forget about him, it has all gone to his head and he needs to refind his feet.}

We bought Shaqiri instead and has been great for us, Keita still has not found his feet, Lallana unable to get into the squad most days and Oxlade Chamberlain out injured still? Wilson almost a shoe in for next season? Why on earth would anybody think we need ANOTHER attacking midfielder? For me an actual striker or left back are the priorities.

Spot on, Ed01. I have no idea why people have this obsession with buying players in Jan. I know people like signings cos it gives them a lift, a wet dream or whatever, they seem not to be able to explain where that player will fit in or how he will react within the squad in terms of harmony and togetherness. Also on a substantive level, I agree with Ed that w actually have ALL the players we need and don't need to sign anyone esp. at CB with 2 of the injured 3 coming back in 10 days (Matip was on the bench last night) .

I personally do not want any signings IF Klopp does not want any signings. He is in charge and is getting it done so I'll ride with him. If people want signings, they can always log on to FIFA and realize their fantasies on there. This is the real world where transfers need to be well-thought out, not fantasies.

{Ed001's Note - it is such a terrible time to buy players in Jan as well. They take time to adjust, so you are really buying for next season.}

I wasn't thinking about this month at all, just my opinion on where I see potential improvement in the team and with the likely outgoings of Sturridge, Origi, Lallana, maybe Milner and how Ox returns from injury. I'm pretty sure Klopp has made it clear we won't sign anyone in Jan.

Jan is a terrible time to buy? Most of our best signings are made in the Jan window.

I don’t get why we ‘messed up’ with Fekir. We didn’t want him for the money they wanted so we pulled out of the deal. That’s our perogative.
So far this season I think it’s proving to be the correct decision.

I agree that we don't need anyone right now barring back up for full backs.

We have made some of our best signings in January though. Sturridge (who was a great striker for a long time), Coutinho, Suarez, Van Dijk, Arbeloa, Mascherano, Agger. They were all winter signings.

Let's not mention Andy Carroll, Jan Kronkamp or Morientes. Wansn't Maxi Rodriguez also a winter signing?
