So all opinions that we have so much depth and options are put to bed. When the business end of the season comes all teams struggle in EPL. Next is away to brighton. before we get two games at anfield.
We have to win the brighton game. It is just a must. Many players are injured and its not ideal but it happens to all teams. Its a bad start to 2019 but it don't need to remain so. Klopp now needs to smart it out in January. Shaq Fab and Mane are very key players now they need to really get there teeth in now. Fabinho might have to play in defense ala Lucas. Just makes me want Lucas at the club even more.
winnable games against brighton palace and leicester ahead in JAN. should be winning them all and getting that mojo back. Come on reds.

We have depth but changing the majority of the side was always going to be a problem, look at the side City played on Sunday, they only rotated a few and against weaker opposition.

{Ed025's Note - you dont have depth cobra, i think thats obvious mate..

as ed025 said we I personally think we have a good 11 and 3 good subs the rest are not at the level required at the moment we will be fine move onto Brighton get the win Matip and Gomez will be back in two weeks.

We have 15 quality players, but the rest can go and no one would notice. Right now, we have more quantity and less quality outside our 1st eleven.

How can we have had Klopp for 4 seasons and been consistently one of the biggest spending clubs and not have depth?
Something is not right.

I think we have depth but the players we have are not used and therefore when called upon for one game have no form or cohesion.

We have a better bench than last year that is it. I understand resting players (not happy with it) but if you have players like sturridge that come in and can't be arsed, the manager must be pissed with this. I thought he was fighting for an extension? Looks like he's thrown the towel in to me.

Ron, many of the senior players last night were ones that are cheesed off / likely to be gone by Summer. That was quite apparent by the attitude and energy levels, particularly led by Senor Moreno.
I felt sorry for the young lads and Milner in there.
It was like a reject Dirty Dozen, except even Lee Marvin couldn’t have sorted that lot out.

Ron, its down to Klopp being too nice to his players. Time to be ruthless and ship out the deadwood. Pep got rid of half the Man City squad when he came in and they won the league. Why can't Klopp do the same? He clearly does not trust anyone outside the first 15 that play regularly in the league and UCL, so why are they still here?
The sensible thing is to involve 2-3 youngsters in the first team squad and sign 2-3 top quality players. We can make space for these new additions by shipping out the obvious culprits.
Who would u rather have:

1) Ki Jana, Curtis Jones, Nat Philip and 2-3 new additions like
Werner, a new fullback and creative midfielder

OR

2) Moreno, Strridge, Origi, Mignolet, Lallana, markovic etc

I know which group of players I would choose. Under most managers, the second lot would have been long gone by now. I love Klopp and he has done a lot of good for the club, but his lack of ruthlessness and showing misguided faith in playes from the second group is holding the club back.

{Ed025's Note - liverpool cant afford to just bring in 3 or 4 quality players in one go IB, they went to the hilt with VVD and alisson and others will come in but it will take time mate..

We have reasonable depth in midfield with Fabinho, Gini, Hendo, Keita, Milner and Lallana (when fit) .

Where we lack is depth is upfront, as apart from Shaqiri, Sturridge or Origi both force us to change our style and neither are consistent enough.

We also lack depth at the back, particularly in the FB’s (although I think we wouldn’t be quite so bad if Klopp just used Milner to cover there)

GK I can’t wait to see us get in a senior, experienced no.2 with a safe pair of hands.

Agree we don't have depth and it was highlighted last night, we currently have 15/ 16 quality players the rest at best are average. Let's just ride this bit of a storm out an we'll be fine.

I think we have a good squad nd have more depth than we did last season, for sure. The issue here is that we dod not have depth in certain areas of the pitch. For example, we have 4 very good CB's BUT we are weak at FB and that MUST be addressed this summer, no excuses. We have enough depth CM with 5 players (bar Lallana) or 6 players (if you add Shaq) for 3 spots when all are fit. Up top, we need help there as well.

So what am I saying, our squad depth is unbalanced in certain areas. also as The Juicer said, what can you do when your senior players like Shaq Moreno, Migs and Studge (he was the complete worst) could not even be arsed during a Cup game? I know people want them all gone this summer BUT as Ed25 said, that is not how it works. You cannot just sell these players off no matter how pissed you are cos them leaving does not only depend on LFC. These players have contracts and they need takers, the money has to be right (fees and wages), the player has to be willing etc. We have to keep improving and that is always an on-going process. Up Da Pool!

We do have depth. Less now that Clyne and solanke are gone

Say what you will about them but I would rather solanke was out there last night instead of DS and DO.

And Clyne, full international, played really well vs man utd and did have good games in our un to beat arsenal to 4th spot season b4 last. His experience and strength would help hoever.

{Ed001's Note - you would rather Solanke than Origi? Why? He is terrible and could miss an open goal from 6 inches out. His first touch is loose and his passing is awful. Glad to see the back of him personally, he was a terrible signing who is completely out of his depth in adult football.}
