I thought keita had played quite well in the 1st few games of this season? I remember jamie rednap saying something along the lines of. "he looks like he has played in this midfield for 20 years" during post match analysis of one of those games.
There were a few glimpses this evening of what he is capable of, particularly when he dropped his shoulder and went past the opposing midfielder like he wasn't there. A poor performance from the team generally this evening but do people really think that naby is a dud?
He has been unlucky with injuries and he needs to cut out a few wayward passes but has he really been that bad?

Keita wasn’t great but when you turn to look up and see Sturridge or Origi drop to half way line and the other not making a run it’s hard to pick any other pass than back.

Again I’d reiterate he’s got to improve but not to be overly judged on that game with strikers playing like they did. Don’t think Shaq offered enough either as an out ball from midfield.

More than likely Klopp got his tactics and team wrong.

{Ed0333's Note - at least origi was trying to get involved even though at one point he was playing in the sweeper position. Sturridge was an absolute disgrace

yeah keita went missing but so did everyone else. keita is not a denfensive player at all though, he uses his brain to get out of most situations but when it comes to physical contact he can't handle it. He needs to be hitting the gym. In the future I would rotate him with the ox rather than play them together.

{Ed0333's Note - he did his fair share of defensive work playing in the bundesliga mate

Completely agree ed033. At this point I’d rather see Sturridge leave than origi given age and injury record etc.

That being said I’ve had enough of the likes of Sturridge getting a chance in cup games ahead of some younger players hard to see the difference now a days.

Don’t mean to disrespect Sturridge but it is how it Is.

{Ed0333's Note - you’re not being disrespectful mate merely offering your opinion. An opinion I concur with

Why are some people only just realising this with Sturridge? He’s been putting regular performances in like that for about 3 years.

I hope it was just an off day for Naby, because I thought he was supposed to be great carrying the ball, but 9/ 10 he looked like a CB trying to dribble, over running it and tripping over himself, was really poor.
