Nope it's the same as Dalglish (kinda) if he does well they will have to give him the job and he's a poor manager that the players will soon get bored of and then have to sack. I'm hoping he does get the job because he's not good enough to be anything but a stop gap to change the mood from toxic to good. He's not a tactician, he's not a coach, he's not a motivator, he's a yes man and a nice guy, which is what's needed short term long term they need a decent manager.

He hasn't even been there a month, as your article states it is too early to judge his progress. A lot of clubs enjoy an early boon when sacking one manager and bringing another in - this has been observed in a number of clubs and is reason why clubs at the lower end of the table tend to change managers, they hope for a temporary boost in results and hope that will be enough to save them come May. Solskjaer has got off to the perfect start, winning all of his games, but can you honestly tell me which, if any, of those games you would of expected United not to win? It's a mark of how low the bar has been set for you that results against the likes of Cardiff, Borunemouth et al leading to comparisons with Busby! As is often the case hype is kicking in, the knee jerk reflex is twitching and, before anything has really been proven, bold statements of expectation and intent are being made. Solskjaer may or may not turn out to be a good appointment - as it stands it is too early to say.

As for the contention that you's have not spent enough money? It is laughable. The outlays you constantly have each and every season are huge and the transfers, as well as wages, are right up there with City as top of the league. Blaming a lack of investment (the gall of even using that term! ) is ridiculous - poor/ bad investment sure, but you's have splurged more money than anyone else for decades now, sometimes the answer isn't the most expensive, but the right player for the required position within the squad. It is something United were, as a club, much better at under Ferguson and which they have struggled with in recent times.

Same as Dalglish? You need to wash your mouth out with soap my friend.

Might well be a master stroke.
But I certainly wouldn’t put a wager on it. Since he’s been at the helm, they’ve only played the relagation fodder teams along with the mighty Reading.

It's no masterstroke at least not for now or at least not yet, IMO. I mean, Utd were dire, the players hated Mou to the core and that permeated in their pathetic performances. They were deeper than rock bottom esp. after we smashed them. This was the same issue with Roy when everyone were fed up with him and KK came in. He had the full support of the club and fans (and rightfully so) cos he was proven. Ole is NOT.

With Ole coming in, the only way was up and since he is a club legend, he gets the benefit pof the doubt and his failed stint at Cardiff will be ignored for now. Also, look at the fixtures they started with when he arrived. If you think the board did not take a look at that before firing Mou then, you are easily deceived. These fixtures are PERFECT for a new manager under these circumstances. He has won game vs teams that Utd are supremely inferior to (all part of the plan to fire Mou at the time they did, IMO) . Call me back when they play a series of games vs teams that will exploit their inherent deficiencies which mind you, are still there BUT who cares about any of that right now? They're winning.

trying to be objective about it. I would think that if Solsjkaer continues these performances then he absolutely should be given a shot at a contract. also investment needs to be relative. for a club with an income as big as manU's, then perhaps the investment so far hasn't been as big as it could have been or rather hasn't been as decisive.

Man United have wasted the last 5 years of development and should have appointed someone like OGS to keep the fans happy immediately after SAF retired.

A few games against lower league teams isn’t enough to have any view on whether OGS is capable of managing a squad long term, whether he’s tactically adept enough against the best managers, and whether he can win the big games. I’m not saying he can’t, I just think it’s way too early to judge him IMO.

My sentiments exactly, SGRed. Let us see how he fares vs better teams with more proven managers and see how he reacts when the oppo. is giving him tactical issues to deal with and we can discuss then.
