Think the reactions are going overboard. Yes klopp set it out wrong. We’re normally all over city by attacking them but sat back but hopefully it’s a lesson klopp will learn. Man City we’re hungry and their desire showed as they wanted it more but we’re still on top and any city would love to be in our position. Don’t give up hope and keep believing.

I think it's disrectful for anyone to say that Klopp "set it out wrong" or "Klopp picked the wrong players" because quite clearly he is the manager of the team, he is on the training pitch. The arrogance of some people that actually think they know more is quite nauseating. One defeat in the League this season! Let Klopp do his job and the rest of us just sit and watch.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely irish, your spot on mate..

Absolutely Irish Rover. He didn't get it wrong at all with the 4-3-3 formation. LFC was away at the reigning champion's ground and 9 out of 10 people would say they would favor a conservative setup to see what ManC was going to throw at us at the start of the game. I think it was a matter of them wanting it a bit more (the win) and also our luck going missing (Mane's shot hits the post and going in while Sane's shot hitting the post and going out) .

Brilliant response, IR. "Klopp got it wrong". According to who? You, Ricky83? Me? that makes no sense, really. Klopp picked the players based on what he set out to do and for the most part, it worked if what he set out to do was to stifle them (knowing they would have more of the possession) and then counter them with quick passing and movement. City had ONE shot on target in the first half (4 shots on target overall) and so the tactic actually worked, in a way. Btw, this is how we (and CP, Leceister and Chelsea this season) have ALWAYS played City (and smashed them) so why would he change? City won a "squeaker" and that can happen esp. if the game was dead even and boy, that was a dead even game. In Boxing, City won via split decision.

One league defeat in 21 games is NOTHING to sneeze at and mind you, City won based on fine margins and nothing more. We can always do better BUT the arrogance of some comments here need to stop. I don't want Klopp to do what I want. I want him to do what he thinks is right and for right now, he is doing a bang up job so I will defer to him first before listening to any fan who has NO idea about what goes on in training, game preparation, tactics, personnel decisions etc.

It's not a question of fans' arrogance or what happens on the training pitch. It is what we see on the match pitch and the fact is that Henderson should not be picked as he is no longer good enough to be in the side. Why de herr Klopp cannot see that is a mystery to me and a lot more regular fans!

I think people are referring to the midfield line-up with regards to picking the wrong players.
That midfield is not the one that has been performing so well recently.

It has a history of not creating too many opportunities for the attack and letting opposition players run off/ past them.

The fact that we came so close to getting a result in spite of it makes it slightly more frustrating as it could have been so much better.

I know fine margins were involved (hitting the post and goal-line clearances), but that selection and performance seemed to be a 'try not lose' rather than a 'lets play our normal game that has worked so well recently'.

I'm still 100% behind the team and a 4 point lead at this stage of the season with the teams that we have played is great.

It’s move on time, next game most important.
