Can't wait for Thursday

I wouldn't honestly mind if we picked our most solid midfield 3 (Fabinho, Gini and Hendo/ Millie) would do for me and as theirfull backs push on allow Bobby, Sadio and Mo to take advantage.

What we don't want to do is leave space in behind us- if they have to resort to hurling crosses from deep into our box then all well and good

The pressure is on them, (you can tell it is as Pep "liverpool best team in Europe" has tried to divert it onto us) and as long as we perform solidly- I think we will turn them over

1-0 us with a breakaway goal.

Agger you said our most solid 3 and named 4 players mate. I think Klopp will go with Hendo-Fab-Wiji as Milner is just coming back from an injury. Shaq will be unlucky if he does miss out as he’s been fantastic for us in my opinion since his signing.

We should target that Zinchenco lad. Good going forward but he's a bag of nerves at the back. Hunt him down with the press and were in.

That would be too defensive and would nullify our attack! Kieta has to start coz he is a threat going forward. So when Bobby drops into the middle we do not sacrifice an attacker. You cannot contain Manchester city no matter who you pick! You got to attack them and score.
Wijnaldum - Fabinho - Kieta.

Harry I think if we are going on form though mate and want to be more attack minded then for me Shaq gets in ahead of Kieta. I really want Kieta to do well for us but he’s got to earn his place in the team like everyone else and for me he’s just not done it yet.

I get your emotion. But this game is for kieta. At some point he need to show the world what he is and what better way than against City. You cannot earn a place without playing. We won’t lose this tie playing kieta. That is assured!

I'd go with the exact same team that started against arsenal, hendo is best when coming off the bench to protect a lead he's one of the best at that, but starting him doesn't pose the same threat as shaqiri or keita and allows a team like city to push forward more. Really hope we get the 3 points no matter who starts.

Harry I would not be disappointed to see Kieta start mate. Like I said I really want him to do well. I’d also be very happy to see Shaq start. The guy scores and creates goals. And goals win games.

JK- 3 and definitely include Gini and Fabinho with one other of Hendo or Milner 👍
Having 3 out of those 4 I don’t think will nullify our attack as both full backs can still push on and join in the front 3

The only 2 things that are assured are that you can't spell Keita properly and we will still be top on Thursday night.
Other than that there are no assurances.

Tempting to target their left back. Kompany is on the right too. Salah and shaqiri could rip the lad to pieces.

But, since we don't need to win, I see our most rigid midfield. Fab hendo and gini. And let's be honest. All three can defend but they can hurt you going forward too.

{Ed0333's Note - I have a feeling Shaq will be on the bench.

I agree with jk kieta is still settling and it's about managing his integration into the team not just throwing him in the deep end hoping he has the form he had last year he will come good but needs more time to gel into the squad and find his place.

Shaq will be on the bench
Best midfield play is wiji Fab and hendo for the match. They'll hunt at the smell of blood and punish any errors from the middle of the park which we know will lead to a quick transition to their goal post. On the defensive aspects, they'll help out the wide backs better as they are more used to the system than shaq.

IMO, Shaq started vs Arsenal cos Klopp knew he prolly won't start vs City and I agree with that. We cannot allow for any passengers in midfield defensively and we were too open vs Arsenal in the first half and that CANNOT happen vs City. Also, Klopp will aleways go for his most experienced midfield combo in big games and since Milner is injured, he won't start. Hence, Klopp will prolly go with Hendo, Wiji and Fab.

Harry, going all attacking in such a game is playing into City's hands cos that is what they want as they are desperate for a win so I don't see Keita starting esp. if he goes for the midfield combo stated above. City's prob. is that they are vulnerable when they lose the ball in transition and Pep has admitted that he can't deal with Klopp in such games so why play into their hands with an attacking formation to begin with? That is just stupid.

We pummeled City 3 out of 4 times last season by NOT playing into their hands. We let them have the ball (hence, more possession which means nothing, really) and then countered with pace and power as soon as we on it. That is what Klopp should do here cos remember, we don't have to win the game if we can't. We at worst must NOT lose it.
