Now that the Christmas pleasantries are over, and we’re back to the football, what does everyone think the line up will be today? I’m tempted to put Shaq as my captain on FPL.

(Giving Milner a rest because it seems like we rushed him back due to injuries at RB, when he himself had a knock) .

Robbo will have a rest. I am almost certain, Salah needs one too, but how do you rest him now when he hits that form.

Hope you had a good Christmas mate, agree mostly but I see Sturridge starting over Firmino today, Mane probably rested too and Henderson and Keita staying in the team. Shaqiri replacing Mane on the right and Sturridge up front with Salah.

Newcastle will sit 11 men behind the ball today and would snap your hand off for a point. I’d love to see us go full strength and blow them out of the water and then make changes and rest our big guns. That’s highly unlikely though so I expect Klopp to utilise his squad today. I can see Lallana starting though with maybe Studge and Shaq also getting the nod.

Spot on, JK23. Newcastle will play their usual 9-0-1 formation today so like you, I thing we should let the front 3 start the game with Shaq in behind to crack the lock of this Newcastle vault. And I think Klopp will go for it in terms of the starting lineup. In midfield alongside Shaq, we can go with Hendo/ Fab combo again or Fab/ Wiji cos Wiji is fresh and Fab should be in top form right now and we should let him ride that wave. Defensively, the CB's pick themselves and Klopp may not want to risk TAA so I see Milner coming in there instead of Clyne. At LB, Moreno may just come in cos I expect Robbo to play both Arsenal and City games. Just my take.

If moreno starts Newcastle will score and it will come from down his side, he's a defender who doesn't want to defend or maybe he can't.

Klopp only looks at today’s game.
What’s the point in putting a weaker side out and maybe not getting 3 points. I would go full team hope for the the win and move on to the next game.

Longthing, you may be right, im pretty sure klopp himself has said that he looks at the squad for a match day and decides to play whoever is fit and not worry so much about the next game.

Longthing and it’s coming - Klopp always says that and always rotates some players. He will see today as easiest of three quickfire games so will rotate. Only time will tell if right or not however he’s got it bang on so far.
