Not a real life legend really bit certainly a fifa legend. the guy was immense.

{Ed0333's Note - he had the ability to be an absolute great and I think he would have achieved this mantle had it not been for the premature passing of his father. His fathers death had an inexorable negative affect on Adriano’s career which he never recovered from. Javier Zanetti the Inter legend was in the room when Adriano got the call telling him his father had died and said he’d never heard a scream so loud and chilling. Ironically Adriano went on to have the season of his life but the depression kicked in soon after and the demise was rampant. What a shame as he had the ability to challenge his compatriot Ronaldo as one of the greatest of all time.

Had the ability to challenge Ronaldo as one of the best of all time 😂😂 where do you come up with this gold.

{Ed0333's Note - Do you actually do ANY reasearch before you post? Zlatan ibrahimovic has said on many occasions that Adriano was the most talented player he’s ever played with...Zlatan played alongside Messi, Del Piero, Figo, Xavi and amongst many other maestros and legends of the game so who do you think I’m more inclined to believe. Benny-Baller who I’m sure hasn’t played professional football in the Premiership, Serie A, La Liga or Zlatan Ibrahimovic who has? You do the maths!
It’s not very difficult making me look like an idiot but you clearly haven’t got the ability or the nous. I hope your refereeing skills are better.

Adriano was a beast. That reply cracked me up ED0333. I think i watched a documentary about him and what you said about his father is what was said in the documentary and that was the turning point for the worse re his career, in fact it was Zlatan that said if i remember correctly?

{Ed0333's Note - yes mate Adriano was super close to his father and his death was a massive blow to his mental and physical health. He no doubt had the natural and physical ability to be one special player.

Zlatan also came out with a lot of crap. Granted, not as much as yourself, who can pick and choose which posts come through to try and make himself look witty and savvy, whilst abusing posters that have been here since day one. And put more hours into this site, helped out people in need on here, more than you ever will. The posters aren’t idiots, having that Ed title doesn’t make everyone follow you like sheep. Enjoy your editing days, they’re numbered 🤙🏼.

{Ed0333's Note - Listen up you pontificating pleb. Firstly I have never edited to my advantage, every post that slags me off I put up on the site for everyone to see so if indeed I look savvy and witty it’s because of plebs like you making me look good. The fact that you’ve been on this site from day one and do charity work does that give you impunity? How friggin arrogant are you? Do you want special treatment on here because your an old timer and done a few podcasts? I say it how I see it and you’ll get treated the same as everyone else. I wouldn’t want any poster to ‘follow me like sheep’ im secure in who I am I don’t need a fan club online. And thankyou for letting me know my editing days are numbered fella. What do you propose I do with my spare time when I get the dreaded sack? Maybe I could teach you some football knowledge or how to talk to women?

The short article I read did include the quotes from Zanetti and Zlatan, I had a look on you tube and the documentary was on there with the actual interviews from both players which I found really interesting and why I asked if ED001 had done a profile on him as I really enjoy reading all the articles he puts on the site. It is a daily routine like many others on here

I think I’m probably more interested in what he is now doing in the favelas in Brazil, it seems he’s kicking about with some colourful characters now and up to no good

Sorry guys I didn’t mean to start an argument.

Why don't you both put your cocks on the table to see who has the biggest and be done with it?

OP, I was just about to make the same request for Adriano so glad you were reading my mind. Benny Baller, all that Ed333 posted about Adriano on what Zlatan and Zanetti said about Adriano and how his father's death lierallhy ruined his life cos he could not deal with the aftermath is factual. If you doubt me, it's all on youtube for you to view.

And as for whether he could have challenged Big Ron for the spot of the best CF in the world, that is also true. How? I watched the Confed Cup in 2005 where Big Ron was excused from the competition due to fatigue from the La Liga season. Adriano (and Robinho) took his spot and blew the whole competition away. Watch his goal in the opening game and see for yourself. they would later pummel Argentina 5-1 or so, in the final.

It was after that competition (after a monstrous season at Inter) that the Brazil manager (Carlos Alberto Perreira) chose to start both of them in the lead-up and at the WC in 2006, instead of having to choose one of them as he always played with one CF with Robinho or Ronaldinho in behind (Ronaldinho had to go play on the left, as a result) . IMO, Adriano was built like a tank, had pace, power ability and a sledgehammer of a left foot. He may not have been as flashy as Big Ron (the best CF to ever play the game, IMO) BUT he was special and unique in his own way. A true loss to football, really.

Wow, I hope your refereeing is not so hot headed and reactant. Harsh and uncalled for, especially for such an esteemed, long standing and well respected poster. I did get the last bit right didn’t I? I don’t want to undersell you.
