Thank you. I really hope the players are not obessed with Manchester City as many of the LFC fans.

I don’t think it’s an obsession mate, it’s more looking for a weakness to allow us to close the gap.
We are much stronger and much more steady than last year albeit nowhere near as potent in the final third.
But that’s part of the worry, if teams aren’t attacking city we need to start back with the free flowing attacking footy and still keep clean sheets.
We could close the gap if we beat city but if we aren’t scoring that will be tough.
Other teams aren’t worried about attacking us at the minute but we have the defence to deal with that, but we will drop points at some point. City I’m not so sure about dropping points as teams are terrified of them, I wouldn’t e surprises if they beat last years points total.
Its not so much being pessimistic about or performances, it’s more about the other sides showing no spine against them.
I’ve heard pundits on talk sport literally saying nobody will catch city now, pundits on bt sport saying give them the trophy now.
I’ve never seen that before.

Ashy, we have only scored 1 less goal and conceded 13 less goals after 14 games versus last season at the same point so please explain what you mean by "nowhere near as potent in the final third"?

But haven’t we only scored one goal less at this stage? This notion we are not as potent in attack just doesn’t ring true.
One thing I would say is we are not taking our chances at the moment. We were clean through on goal 3 times on Sunday, Mane missed the target twice and Shaqiri hit it straight at the keeper. That’s not to mention Origi hitting the bar from a yard out.
We need to be more clinical in big games as not every team has Pickford in goal to help us out.
Other than that we are going along very nicely thank you very much.

Yes but please consider the method of the goals we have scored this year. Please don’t assume I’m unhappy with the team, but last year we got the ball and teams where just unable to defend against us, we were ruthless. Running at defences, cutting teams open, creating space for other players when we got the ball. A lot of our goals this year have come from a scrappy mistake in the opposition box, we can’t rely on that all the time especially against the better clubs.

Oh I see! We can score as many goals as last season but if you don’t like the nature of them you’ll be unhappy?
We didn’t start playing like that until the second half of the season Ashy and even then it was inconsistent. We tend to remember the games we did tear teams apart like Roma etc. but forget the WBA, Swansea and Stoke type games where we struggled to break them down.
I was just pulling your leg about the nature of goals thing BTW Ashy 😉.

Ok let me put it this way then, if this season comes down to the game against city (unlikely that it could be pinned on one game I know) does everyone think we will beat city playing the way we are right now?
Because last season I was adamant we could beat anyone, this year I’m not as sure.
I know the numbers are there for all to see but as the Ed’s always remind people statistics can be made to look how people want them to look.
And I understand we look good sitting pretty in second 2 points behind city and everyone is saying we should be happy about it.
Will everyone still be happy at the end if we finish on our highest ever points total and it still isn’t enough?
97 points last year still wasn’t enough to catch city, but everyone will deem the season a success “well look we finished on 97 points, every other season we would of won the league”
But it’s not won the league has it? That’s what matters at the end of the day, nobody looks back and remembers when we finished with a decent amount of points.
That season when we had Torres on fire and finished second, was that successful?

The only difference between us and ManC is draws. They've had 2 and we've had 3. That's a hairline difference. And we haven't even hit the halfway line yet. If people are looking for reasons to guarantee the title to us, there aren't any, because it's too soon. If people are looking for reasons to give the title already to ManC, while disregarding the realities and facts at present, there can be hundreds found.

In fairness this time last year we had no Vvd, Mig or Karius were our starting keeper and Moreno had started the majority of the games as our left back. Doesn’t really take a rocket scientist to see why last season’s defensive and points record is different to this season’s.

Just means we are better defensively than last season which is good. Here comes the but, we didn't win diddly squat last season and won't win diddly squat this season.

Exactly JK. But now we’re not conceding goals we get hammered for not scoring enough even though we are only a goal down on last year.
And Ashy at the start of December last year I absolutely didn’t think we could beat anyone. 4-1 away at Spurs and 5-0 away at City we’re still quite fresh in the memory. Now I absolutely do believe we can beat anyone. We are stingy as you like at the back, have a great keeper and players at the top end who are always likely to score.

Ashy, you say there is not obsession with City yet majority of what you are posting has City written all over it. Make up your mind, man. Also, it seems you are trying so hard to find something wrong with the team to the point of saying that we are not scoring enuff whereas we have scored one goal less this season at this point, last season. Too many contradictions in your post, my friend.

And to finish, if City win the PL then they deserve it. If we win it then we do. If we don't, we dust ourselves off and go again next season. That's how that works. City will NOT be gifting us a damn thing and we're going to have to earn this title and Klop is ready to do that. Are you?
