Cheers for that Ed, agree with most of it, think you've been generous with Wijnaldum and Firmino's rating though.

I remember a few occasions Gini pulling out of tackles in a derby, one against Gueye particularly sticks out, maybe I just have a vendetta against him, but I really don't see what he offers at all.

As for Firmino, I see he works hard every game, but when does that become not enough anymore? I lost count the amount of simple passes he played to an Everton player, there was one spell he seemed to do it about 4 times in quick succession. I love the guy but he is so far from his best it's a bit worrying.

{Ed001's Note - it depends on how you see the ratings. I go as 5 is no effect, anything below is a negative effect on the game, anything above is a positive effect. First half Gini was poor but his second half was much better. I might have been a little generous though, just because I feel like I am tough on him and expect more from him as I have seen him since he was a youngster when he looked like a potential worldbeater.}

Class that Ed, I like that you rated Everton's players as well, nice one mate.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate.}

Cheers ed, any chance you could do that with reviews going forward, I know it’s doubling your workload but it was interesting to read your perspective on both teams.

{Ed001's Note - I was wondering which half of you would ask that....

Yes mate, I could do that, if that's what people want?}

Good suggestion aome, yeah be quality that Ed mate.

{Ed001's Note - well of course you will say that, you are his alter ego!}

Now I'm hearing voices in stereo! 😁.

{Ed001's Note - it gets so confusing.}

I think its a good idea Ed001, but only if it didn't come at the expense of the other articles and daily news you work on, as I enjoy reading those too.

{Ed001's Note - it wouldn't mate don't worry.}

7.) 04 Dec 2018

That’s pretty fair really Ed001.
Two questions -
1. Can we play Fabinho in a 3?
2. This Salah / Firmino positional swap; Salah back out to the right, Firmino back to his old position and Shaqiri as 10?

Cheers Ed.

{Ed001's Note - 1. yes Fabs can play like that, it just depends on the opponent as to what system works. When one man is being expected to deal with Sigurdsson, Gomes, Bernard and Walcott cutting in, then he is going to struggle. It is up to the rest of the midfield to help out, which Gini wasn't doing in the first half, he was too far up field and left him isolated. Milner, for instance, would have spotted it and helped, Gini is in his own little world and never reacts to things like that.

2. I don't like Salah as a central striker, his pace and runs work much better from the right and Firmino further up works better. However I don't think Shaqiri and Firmino would do anything but trip over each other. I would use either Origi or Sturridge with Shaqiri behind but not Firmino and Shaq together. It might work but they seem to play in the same space too much when Shaqiri is on the right, I can only see that getting worse if they were both central.}

Hey Ed, thanks for the write up on both sides! Sorry looks like I may have doubled your workload! From my side, if it makes it easier, perhaps do the write up for both teams on only big games?
Either way, great review as always.
Do you think origi has a future with us? I’ve been sturridges biggest supporter for some time but I just feel now thag origi could be a better option off the bench. Not just down to the derby but because he’s quicker and is willing to chase down more than sturridge.
Also really need firm to find form in this coming busy month!

{Ed001's Note - I have said for a long time I like Origi and think he is the best option we have as the back up striker. He can play the target man role as well as having pace and skill. I am glad that he has won his place back in the squad by putting in the work on the training ground to prove himself. His efforts have given him a chance of a future at the club, the goal has improved his chances and now he just has to keep going.}

I doubt it'll happen but I'd really like to see Origi start tomorrow, I think there's more to him then people make out. Id love to see things work out for him here, there's more to that lad.

Thanks for that Ed001. I’m with you on Origi, there’s been a striker in there somewhere fighting around all the injuries to get out. I really hope he gets a chance to kick start his career again, either with us or elsewhere. Is he ‘happy’ being a backup, or is he agitating for first team?

P. S. I love the cat-toast reference 😉😂😂.

{Ed001's Note - he just wants to play regularly and is willing to fight for his place for now.

Thank you, it is the eternal question and it has finally been answered. Now all we have to do is figure out whether Arsenal are the cat or the toast...}

May I refer you to an earlier post of mine in which I discuss in depth the 'Cattoast Conundrum'? I think you will find it both enlightening and disturbing :)

{Ed001's Note - funnily enough what you post is often disturbing.}

Excellent read Ed001 mate.

I’m totally with you on Origi, I just hope he keeps his head down and forces his way in the team.

I also hope Keita gets to grips with our system and settles soon etc soon, I think he could be key as the season progresses.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate. I have faith in Keita he will be fine.}

Origi - wow, what a difference a goal makes. Most posters wanted him moved on in January. To lighten the wage bill, of course.

Shaqiri - the more i see him, the more I think he is at his best as an impact player to come off the bench. Otherwise, he has a lot of areas to work on to fit in really well within the team; like getting a corner kick past the first defender on the near post and defending. Not slating at all, but he needs to improve in a few areas to warrant holding on to a position held by Coutinho.

I don't accept alisson on 7 ed01!atlst an 8!

{Ed001's Note - he didn't really have enough to do to get an 8.}

i understand your ratings now ed001, maybe develop a short template that you can just copy and paste on each article on the basis of your ratings.

i think it is very fair way of rating bt u do get new readers from time to time im sure.

{Ed001's Note - yeah that's not a bad idea. I will try and remember to do that on the next review.}

I have always loved Divvy. That kid is the real deal and I have always known that since he came to us. I remember him sitting Studge on the bench in the 15/ 16 season where in the second half of that season, he was simply toying with CB's and score 11 goals including the complete hatrick vs Saints in the EFL Cup. Since that ay, I knew he was the real deal.

I also remember people saying he should be sold cos he was having a rough spell and that Solanke was better than him. Yeah, a kid who has barely played 40 senior games in his career is better than a guy who has score 22 goals for LFC as third choice striker in the PL.

I'm just happy he never gave up and kept working hard and Klopp definitely saw that in training and gave him a chance and boy did he take it. In my biased opinion, he did way more in 6 mins. than Richarlison did in 97 mins. He created a chance, hit the post and scored the winner, all the things Richarlison could not do BUT don't tell Ed25 that. He's going to lose it the same way Klopp duid when Origi (Ed25's nemesis) scored.

Only just saw this, great read Ed001. I liked the fact that it included the Everton player ratings as well.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, glad you enjoyed.}
