Well it wouldn't be Liverpool without the drama. Remember Olympiacos "you beauty"
The chunky chick ain't singing just yet.

I was there that night and I'll be there vs Napoli.
I don't think we've been good enough this season, listen anyone can lose away to PSG, but we had a free hit tonight to go and Attack them but we looked lost again.
{Ed002's Note - Liverpool will go in to the game knowing what they need to do - but Klopp’s naivety in Europe needs to go. Pep L needs to step up and help here. I see no reason at all why Liverpool can’t qualify - but Carlo Ancelotti is very smart and Liverpool need to control the game and score early - no headless chickens that Klopp likes. They can get through.}

We have not played our ‘A-Game’ in Europe and deserve to go out. The more conservative approach has worked against the lesser premier league sides but in Europe and arguably against the better premier league sides, it has not. If we had approached these games as we had last season we would have been home and dry a long time ago. Klopp is taking this ‘energy conserving’ approach too seriously and the blame lies solely with him. Against better opposition we need to concentrate on playing at our own explosive football, rather than worry about the opposition. I appreciate the optimism but it is blind optimism nonetheless. We have invited this trouble upon ourselves and i only hope that klopp can learn from it in the second half of the season.
{Ed002's Note - It is not an “A†game but having the ability to adapt to play in Europe and not the Premier League - Rafa Benitez did it well at Liverpool - Chelsea has done it often, but for now it is difficult for Liverpool to adapt to the “European gameâ€. For me it is not all lost - Liverpool are a good side and can overcome Napoli - if they are smart. But it is all based around a need to adapt, to be patient, to wait for chances - not to chase and chase. Don’t lose hope here. Klopp needs to figure out how to deal with Carlo’s team - and Ancelotti is a really smart coach. Miserable sod, but a smart and great coach.}

Forgot it is Ancelotti, blast it just got harder, Klopp is clueless tactically. Nail biting time.

One thing since klopp has arrived I have noticed his midfield has never really thrived it's been very restricted not a lot of goals from there, maybe I am wrong just seems we need more invention and attacking threat from that position . I am really surprised at how Keita and fabihno have not been trusted on a regular basis too try and improve us, fabihno seemed too sort of been getting it together but Keita seems too Be lacking the confidence too play his natural game hope this changes .

Just needs to stop playing three holding midfielders it’s not working we played our best when we had an ox type player. Think we’d of had more success tonight just trying to go at PSG tonight with two holders and Shaq pulling strings.
Changing it like he did didn’t work neymar Verratti and Mbappe always had to much quality for that but hey ho onto Napoli game and then Europa if it comes to that. Shame tho seems to be a lot of emphasis on the PL this year yet we will see if we’ve got the pace to do that. The red star and Napoli game costing us in CL but didn’t deserve to win either imo.

Well said Kopite_68 and AA.
This is Klopps doing and as ED02 pointed out, he extremely naive.
I also do not belive it is "conserving energy. "
I am sure it is simply that our team is not ticking as usual due to other reasons.
Againsr "big teams" or in big games we need to play to our style and srrengths and do it full so as we nake the opposition play catch up and chasing us, not the other way around.

I'm surprised at so much negativism. Bar the opening 20 minutes we were decent, not great, but could have grabbed a point. PSG deserved the win, they were defensively excellent and their midfield seemed to 1-2 through ours way too often. Agree we lacked creativity and would have preferred Shaq had come on earlier instead of Sturridge.
You all obviously know more about coaching a European game than me, but I seem to remember Klopp getting us to 2 European finals? No, we didn't win them, but how many other Premier League sides have done that lately?

Question for Ed002:
Would you change the midfield personnel for the Napoli game? We spent a 100 million pounds on Fabinho and Keita and Klopp still persists with the same unimaginative midfield trio in spite of the game needing goals. Not to mention the midfield formation and tactics will need a reshuffle as well since both new midfielders excelled at their previous clubs in a double midfield pivot which KLopp has been reluctant to deploy so far this season. Would love to see Shaq, Fab and Keita in a midfield 3 against Napoli. We go into the game needing a win at all costs and its time KLopp gives his new recruits a chance to do what the old guard could not.
{Ed002's Note - It is not the cost of the midfield that counts. Fabinho has had problems settling with the language and the culture. Keita is not and never has been what Liverpool needed. So I would not risk them.}

Wise words Ed02, I noticed how you said Pep Lijnders need to step up, we were only speaking of this days ago.
I suspect if Liverpool do not make the last 16 in Europe and were to only draw with Everton, the Buvac loss will become a big topic again.
I suspect you could be deleting many posts in the near future, if a few results go the wrong way.

The question I keep asking myself after last night's game, and some others played in the EPL, are we seeing the "Buvac" effect"? I have no idea about Ljinders contribution since he came back, so I won't say anything there, but does Klopp need better help in preparing games? Ed002, do you know if Buvac has been released from his employment with the club or is he stil affiliated? Haven't read anything about it anywhere.
{Ed002's Note - Buvac resigned as I explained at the time. I don't know what the contractual situation is with Liverpool.}

We didn’t play well. And the result was probably right.
I never want to see naymar ever again I’ve never know a player play act so much I all my life I just can’t stand him
In fact the PSG team dived all game.
And the ref was abysmal. How is that foul not a red!
Bring on Everton 👊ðŸ¼.

What would happen if we beat Napoli 2:1 and PSG only manages a draw against Red star? who goes through? Its a possible scenario considering both Liverpool and Napoli dropped points there.

Thanks fruitba. But I read somewhere that in the case of 3 teams tied they look at the points in the head to head between the tied teams, this gives us 6 points compared to 5 for Naps and PSG. I wonder if one of the eds can confirm that.
