Both neymar and mbappe injured tonight and could miss CL game with us. finally some good news after an international break.

{Ed002's Note - Good news players getting injured you think?}

They didn't die, I'm sure they will be ok in a few weeks.

It’s part of the game Ed. Players get injured. You’re just lucky sometimes that just as you’re about to play someone their 2 best players get injured.
Good news for them? No. But for us? Of course.
I’m sure both will live to roll around on many more football pitches in the near future.

I dislike the International breaks due to that reason, it’s never good to see players injured and we want to be playing the best players in the world, it’s all part of the romance of the CL. IMO

I had to miss the home tie against PSG due to work commitments and was out of the country. To be fair, I was pretty gutted to have missed the match as I love it when the top players come to Anfield, it’s a privilege to watch these guys play.

Really? We are happy players are getting injured? Absolutely fickle and ridiculous.
Besides that, would you be happy beating a reserve team? How many of them injured would really please you?

Exactly Benny.

No matter what the player, an injury really shouldn't make any of us happy, I'd rather beat a full strength PSG, no point doing things the easy way is there? Neymar I can't stand but I'd never wish an injury on him.

First of all its not at all good for us being excited over someones injury.
Second of all its not good anyway because without neymar they would play better as team. They have lot of talent, the game is in their yard and they certainly have enough players on them to replace neymar and mbappe, they have draxler, di maria, and yea timothy weah, nkunku ust to name a few. I don't know why that is good news at all. If there is neymar who just put him in a pocket and all their attacks die.

Kinda got both ends of the spectrum here. there is an obvious advantage but ya still got to turn up. On paper, PSG's starting XI minis Neymar and Mbappe is strong than Red Star ye? But we still lost to 'em. Anything can happen, just changed the dynamics.

Ah now folks, we don’t mind if Ramos gets injured in fairness 😉.

Victory at any and all costs? Victory with a footnote that Neymar and Mbappe were out injured on the night PSG got pushed out of the UCL? No thanks. (And makes you wonder what kind of people express joy and celebration when footballers are injured and unable to perform the job they earn a living from? ) .

So the holier than thou brigade are out I see. Don’t tell me than you wouldn’t be happy if we were about to play Utd and De Gea pulled a hammy in training.
You can’t wish serious injury on players that would affect their livelihood that would be out of order. But a minor injury that keeps them out for just about long enough to miss a game against us is fine by me.
It’s part of the game and why the top teams have huge squads.
I’m sure our top players will be injured for some games this season and our opponents will be happy about that.
Don’t make it into more than it actually is people.

Spot on, Benny. If people think the PSG fans would not be happy if any of our players Salah esp. were unavailable due to injury then they are fooling themselves, end of. I personally would not want anyone to get injured (esp. to the point of being unable to play for a while) BUT it is part of the game and by the way, PSG have a big enough squad of players to cope cos after all, they were supposed to have won the CL by now, right? They should be able to cope. Either way, I fully expect them to play on Wed.

BB, personally I'd rather us score a shed load of goals against De Gea over Romero. It'd be that bit more satisfying. I agree it is part of the game, nobody can argue that, it's fact but I still wouldn't be thinking before a big game such as PSG 'fingers crossed Neymar, Mbappe, Rabiot all get injured' the game would be less entertaining without the big names.

If we had Salah and Firmino out and they beat us, the excuses of them being injured would soon come out. Same will be for them if we beat them, their two biggest names injured lol it's not clever to beat a team without their biggest 2 players.

With me, I enjoy entertaining football and I can only hope every single one of their players are fully fit as well as ours, it makes it fair. We'll still do them I have no doubts about it.

You’re missing the point Salah. No one is sitting there praying for players to get injured but that doesn’t change the fact that it makes it easier to win if their best players do get injured so what’s wrong with being happy about that?
If we’re in the Europa League come January I guarantee you that you won’t be saying ‘it’s ok because we played against Neymar and Mbappe and it was a joyous game of football’.
Also what’s fairer about their full side being available? We don’t have Ox so does that mean every game we play this season isn’t fair?
Honestly mate I get the sentiment, you shouldn’t wish injury on anyone but if the best players from another team are out when you play them you are lucky and should be pleased.
It very often goes the other way and the players that come in fight hard for their place and it becomes a harder game. I personally think they will both be patched up and play anyway, it’s a huge game for them after losing at Anfield.

{Ed002's Note - The point is that you need to be bigger than celebrating injury to players. Liverpool fans of old would expect to see the team put up against allcomers and win regardless - and for a long time they did. The new age supporters want to try and justify the cheating, look for any edge they can get through celebrating injuries to the opposition etc.. It is no big deal and sort of reflects the transition we have seen from the cheerful scallywag to the shaven-headed, lager-swilling, pot-bellied, tattooed knuckle-dragging oaf that personifies the modern day fan.}

Bloody great point you make there Ed2, the difference between the fans who saw Liverpool dominate (us older lot) and the younger fans is incredible. They want instant success at any cost, me, I'm all about a fair game and I think the majority of the older generation are. The youngsters wish injuries on players to try and get an advantage, that's something I'm well against. I want to see us win fair and square because I know we're capable.

BB I'm not saying you're one of them mate, just speaking in general.

I’m not one of those Salah I was brought up on the Kop in the 80s and I can tell you now even back then you’d still have a smile if you played Everton and they had players out injured.
I think there’s a huge difference between hoping someone gets injured and being glad when they do.
Surely no one hopes for injury but if your opponents best players are injured when you play them you’re kidding yourself if you say you’re not a bit pleased.
