Awesome player wasn’t he, makes me wonder how Davids in his prime would be like in our current Liverpool squad, I’m sure he would get a game.

Great read, Ed. You took me way back with this one. I remember watching Edgard David (he had regular hair then) playing for Ajax with a certain group of youngsters like Dennis Bergkamp and Clarence Seedorf. That was in the 92/ 93 season. After he and that young Ajax team (Bogarde, Reiziger, Overmars, Finidi and of course, N****wo Kanu) won the CL in 1995 under LVG, High-spending AC Milan came and cherry-picked this team and Davids moved there. He had a horrible time and blew his knee out. Many thought he was lost until Marcelo Lippi came to the rescue and he became the Edgar Davids we would all know and love. That Ajax team was phenomenal and the amount of players they had who have gone on to become legends of the game or had great careers is astounding.
