Firstly if we see fault with our team, it dies not make us any less passionate or a fan than the next person.
Those that are saying we not playing as well as we should, are not saying we should go back to our strategy of last season. All we are saying is that we have drastically improved our defense and keeper, so if we played the attacking football of last season, or close to that, with some caution, we would be playing better. We not asking for 5-4 wins. We expressing that we are not playing to ALL our strengths yet.
If Sturridge didn't score that last minute goal against Chelsea, if Mahrez scored the penalty and if the goal Fulham scored stood (we have had bad decisions given against us) . We could be 5 points less. With potentially 3 losses. Chelsea and City could have 2 more points each as well. Now I'm not say this to say that we were lucky, my point of this is, woukd everyone still be happy if thise 3 things happened? Because honestly, that would put us in a position we were last season, when most were not so happy. I think Klopp also feels we need to improve in our attack.
Our "criticism" should not be taken as a negative vibe against the team, all we saying is we do need to improve in our midfield when we are attacked. And improve in midfeild and attack linking when we attack.

Lot of “ifs” there, you sound like an Everton fan, “if” this and “if” that.
You can say the same about any team in the league, games have fine margins, any team can have more or less points depending on small decisions, you’ve just decided to focus on all the occasions we got lucky, saying if we didn’t get that luck we would be lower down the table, you could quite easily look at all our games and pick out all the times we didn’t have luck and conceded or didn’t score and say we should be miles ahead. At the end of the day it’s the result at the end of the night that matters, over a season the good and bad luck evens itself out.
You can’t play defensive and attacking football at the same time it doesn’t work, if we played more offensive then the defence will suffer, we are grinding out results and that’s all that matters in a title challenge, we also have a brand new goalkeeper let's not put extra pressure on him by leaving him exposed.
this years football isn’t as fun to watch but looking at the league table makes up for that, it’s obvious the team is a lot more restrained so we last the distance in a title race.
Finally, seriously stop bloody moaning and support the team.

That's a good one, mikey! Totally agree with you. But I won't say watching Liverpool this season isn't as fun as the previous season. I would say different. I like it just as much.

I don’t think anyone would disagree that we’re far from on top form Andy. But anyone who’s been slammed for negativity is rightly so. We can express our concerns with team performances without moaning. Ultimately we are 2nd and 2 points off a fantastic city squad having already played them. We can spout luck all we want but there are zero grounds to moan about our current circumstances.

These moans would only be warranted if weren’t where we are. Be concerned, but don’t complain, do you think we could have started better honestly and realistically?

Almost every Arsenal game on their unbeaten streak has been a highly contested game that they could have easily lost or drawn. Yes we’ve had a couple of games where decisions have gone our way but the Arsenal game was an example of luck evening out. It’s fine to critique the team, but to suggest we don’t deserve to be where we are is simply untrue. Our performances haven’t been great all the time, but neither has any other team bar city. Reading some comments you’d think Arsenal and Chelsea were 10 points ahead of us.

All champions can mix it and be flexible like winning ugly or winning when not 100 percent as well as slicing teams open and showing class, i would rather be a team that can win in more ways than one than one that can only play one way an if it doesn't work we implode. That is what klopp is trying too work towards I think and maybe it had an impact on his working relationship wid buvac as last season an seasons before it was all guns blazing with no other method of play . I believe city are the best as they have adapted the quickest and the best under pep too all the qualities mentioned above we are learning on the job .

It's all a question of semantics and "perspective", in the end. By definition words like "better" and "worse" are always going to be subjective because everyone sees things in their own way, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Some choose the high flying style of last year and some choose the methodical style of this year. And while some can argue that the points total thus far this year makes the team "better" than last years, some will bring up luck and slower "workmanlike" approach to playing and, therefore, a more boring and tedious style from the perspective of a fan/ viewer.

My view is that we must win the title. And I prefer to leave the style of play up to Mr. Klopp and his team. He knows best, simply because he's been placed in charge of making those decisions which result in the style of play we are using. I saw the high flying years of 13/ 14 and last year, and after not making it in the end, I will give Mr. Klopp and his team the option to choose whichever style he thinks is necessary to finally get over the hump this year.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the back and forth that is going on these pages. Everyone has their perspective. I'm simply leaving it up to the manager to do as he sees fit to win the title because that's what I trust his objective is (the same as mine) .

Luck usually evens itself out over the season. The table doesn’t lie and this season we have been the 2nd best team regardless of ifs and buts. If you’re not happy with the progress we have made I really have no idea what your expectation was? Break a new premier league record for points after 12 games? Key is to stay in the mix until after Xmas and then you’re in with a shout. Every team will go through a tough period. We may have just had ours and look where we are!

You have a valid point there Swishcleaner. Last year was one of surprises. Nobody expected us to threaten ManC the way we did or end up in the UCL final, and let's not forget about Klopp's 4th choice winger purchase ending up as Player of the Year. So last year's surprises created expectations for this year. The same type of play and better results because we reinforced weak areas. The results are better (mathematics and numbers don't lie) but the style of play has been different; mostly out of design by Klopp and the coaching staff. So people talk.

OP, using the if's and but's kind of defeats your whole theory I'm afraid. Had we scored all our chances vs Chelsea, we win the game, period. See, anyone can play that game. Those are hypotheticals and sorry, I do not live in that world cos you can use those to make any subjective point you want to make. I live in the here and now and right now, the table as someone said, does not lie. We are where we are cos we deserve to be there. NOBODY gave us anything. We have earned every point we have and the ones we don't have, we have not doe enough to earn them. That is how football and really, life works.

Now should we improve? Absolutely cos the issues are there for all to see. What does a lot of people's heads in is those moaning cos we did not pummel Fulham 5-0. That is where the moaners get no sympathy from me. They seem to forget that this is football, the PL where any given weekend, a big team can lose points or lose, period. Ask City (drew with Wolves) and Arsenal (who almost got embarrassed by same Wolves) or Spurs who struggled mightily vs Wolves and Palace. You have to go out there and compete and that is what we have done and will continue to do.

I also think people see our season thru the prism of what City is doing. It is a choice they have made for themselves so them moaning about stuff will be met with criticism cos we are LFC, not City. Klopp and LFC no longer need to prove that they can play fluid footie, score goals or pummel the best teams in all of Europe. It is time to WIN and Klopp is trying to do that and whatever decisions he makes that will help us get there, I am good with.
