Eds 001 and 002 if you could buy 1 player in January who is available and would suit Liverpool’s style of play and hard working ethos, who would you pursue?

{Ed001's Note - Kante.}

I suspect that would be most teams answer Ed. Guy really is on another level compared to pretty much any other midfielder out there, he'd be so good within our system to. Is there any particular reason why we didn't move for him after it was clear he was going to move on from Leicester? Were we simply not interested (why we wouldn't be interested I do not know) or did he simply have his heart set on Chelsea?

{Ed001's Note - I believe he had his heart set on Chelsea. Though we were never in for him, so not sure if that was just out of the options available or if he had made it clear he only wanted Chelsea.}

Ok thanks Ed and I suspect that choice would be popular
Kante is not likely to be available though, and I know it’s generally a bad time of the year to obtain top players, but is there anyone available in January that could maybe revitalise our midfield, because the way I see it, City and Chelsea both have a stronger midfield than ours?

{Ed001's Note - revitalise? I give up, this is a joke right? We have an excellent squad with half a midfield that has barely had a chance and you are whining about how it is not good enough? Don't waste my time.}

Shughes55, we have two players coming back to revitalise our midfield, our captain and Keita when they're both back and fully fit. Thought Hendo showed his quality when he came on against Fulham helping us control the game. Ever since Ed001 pointed out his control and one touch passing I can't stop noticing it, always minimal touches, he ought to teach his mate Lallana a thing or two.

Ed001, would you consider a deal for Dembele (Barca Dembele) to be worthwhile in Jan? Either loan with option or straight buy?

He seems to be a real prospect, not quite in the Mbappe bracket but not far behind, but then again, I'm basing this on clips and articles rather than watching him for whole matches at a time.

{Ed001's Note - not from what I have seen and what I have been told by people who have scouted him or worked with him. He is very loose with the ball, constantly turning it over to the opposition running down blind alleys etc.}

Thanks Ed001. Does he appear to have the game intelligence to iron the negatives out with proper coaching, as he certainly has the pace and movement to scare a lot of opposing teams?

{Ed001's Note - apparently not, that is why Barca want rid. He is not quite Ollie Burke level of stupidity, but they are not much more flattering about him.}

Ah, that's a shame. All the raw materials but lacking the important muscle between the ears. Do you/ your scout mates know of any other wingers that could be tailor made for a Klopp Liverpool? Or should we be focussing our efforts closer to home and looking to the likes of Kent, Wilson or Woodburn as cover/ replacements (depending on which story we believe! ) for our front 3, esp Mane/ Salah?

{Ed001's Note - I would suggest the lad at Ajax, Lozano, is very well suited.}

Thanks Ed001, Hirving Lozano of Mexico? He certainly had a great world cup and we've been linked on and off for almost a year now (according to the press), so fingers crossed. PSV, by the way.

{Ed001's Note - oh sorry I know that I am just in the middle of doing a legends article on Edgar Davids and so Ajax is in my head. Just stupid error on my part, apologies.}

I look forward to reading that Ed001. I did hanker after a pair of Edgar Davids glasses in my yoof, so I hope you devote enough time to the famous bins!

{Ed001's Note - I will defo be mentioning them as me dad has glaucoma. I have always had to have my eyes checked for it on a regular basis and would have loved to have had the opportunity to wear them when I was a kid. I might have been able to see the ball properly then!}

Looking forward to reading about Davids. What a player. Technique, physicality and an engine to boot.
