Morning Ed, I want to know who that footballer was who got pulled over now, either way what an absolute tool, you'd of thought they'd have a little more sense wouldn't you.

Cheers mate, hope you have a good day.

{Ed001's Note - I am glad I am not the only one who wants to know! Has to play for a team with less than 18 points. I am sticking with Reading as his team as my guess.}

I'm pretty sure you've got to go on the 24 point total Ed001 mate because they added the violation points to his existing points. so it'll be a team with under 24 points. but his girlfriend has a nice £40k car. what a div!

{Ed001's Note - his girlfriend was also in trouble mate, but you make a good point, I forgot that it would include the 6 he already had. I was reading it as he had just been handed more points than his team, but you are right, it says he now has more points than his team.}

It's definitely Reading mate.

{Ed001's Note - adds a few possibilities such as Wycombe when you are wide awake enough to remember the 6 he already had. My geography is not really that good though, so it could be anyone, but I am going to stick with Reading.}

{Ed001's Note - glad to hear it mate.}

Great read as usual Ed001 mate. I do think it's worth mentioning the disgusting attack on an Irish referee in an amateur game. It was reported Daniel Sweeney (the referee in question) is recovering in hospital from a broken jaw and other serious injuries after an "appalling" attack by players following a match. He was assaulted after an amateur game in the Republic of Ireland's Combined Counties League by (allegedly) three Mullingar Town players and a fan - which followed the club's match at Horseleap. I found this very disturbing.

{Ed001's Note - it is amateur football, if I was reporting everything happening in that there would be no time to breathe mate. I have seen myself players get shot at, have dogs set on them, refs headbutted, spectators chase the ref off, etc etc. I do agree it was horrible, but you can't pick out one instance to get outraged about and ignore a billion others.}

Given the area and that the stopp was in South Mimms it could be a Watford player as their training ground is close ;)

{Ed001's Note - no the police did say it was not a Premier League player.}

Damn. lol. I was hoping we could uncover a Watford div, lol.

By the way, you're right Ed001 mate about picking out one particular incident. I was actually at Sunday football on Hackney Marshes (a long time ago) when a player left a match during the game and went and got a gun from his car! I remember he got a lifetime ban and a custodial sentence for the possession of firearms. apparently it was not loaded but I can tell you all our pants went brown that day.

{Ed001's Note - it happens a lot, but there are literally tens of thousands of games taking place so it is bound to happen somewhere.}

A good friend of mine used to referee university games and he said that he has been on a night out many times where say someone he carded has came to start on him.
