No way we will win the league guys. Only 20 minutes gone and City are already 3 nil up. Second spot for us will be a good achievement.

Reality Check! Should have taken the League cup more seriously!

Yeah, City look like us at our best. every game.
To win the league this year with Chelsea and City looking so good, pretty much requires us to win every single game till the end of the year. draws just mean 2 points dropped.

{Ed0333's Note - hence why yesterday was such a kick in the gonads...

City can play any combination of there first team squad and win games with room to spare. To make 25 points up was always going to be so hard and second I feel is all any team can hope for for some seasons to come. I said at the time we should have gone all out in the league cup as we haven't had a trophy since 2012 and it would have been a good way to start winning them again. But that has been and gone. City look imperious and will be if not impossible certainly very difficult to catch if they open a 5 or 6 point lead over the others in the league.

Still a long way to go but this City team have raised the bar. We are going to need to be near on perfect over the 38 games to win the league and no shame in not doing that.
I think Ed001 might have said Klopp was possibly trying to pace the season a bit better to make sure we are strong going into April and May. I think we are missing AOC a bit as we lack someone in midfield to really drive forward with the ball hopefully when Keita is fit he can step up and do this . it’s not quite as much fun as watching us last season but you can’t knock the points tally so far.

{Ed0333's Note - the Ox is a massive loss.

Just because they're smashing a team on 7 points doesn't mean they're guaranteed to win the league mate, have some belief, we'll win it!

Are you guys even watching the game? Southampton have been woeful at the back. It's hardly the amazing quality of City but rather the awful coaching of MArk Hughes and the terrible defending of his players. They did, in the first half, stand and allow City players to basically walk towards the goal several different times. I know City are good but teams playing as badly as Southampton just make them look like world beaters. Have some faith and try not to be so knee-jerk: a draw at a very in-form Arsenal (a game we could have won) is not the end of the world, City trampling over a crap Southampton does not change that fact.

I will point out that forgetting saints, they’ve also beatnen arsenal and spurs away. So not sure who will likely be able to make them drop points.

Dooooom and gloooooooom! Oh no we didn’t win against arsenal and city beat Southampton. Some of these posts are pathetic. It’s November. We’re still unbeaten in the league. We haven’t got out of third gear. We’re still in it to win it. Oh no! Chelsea are beating Palace 😩 get a grip boys.

{Ed0333's Note - I grip every morning reaper and when my wife’s not around twice.

This is what a lot of us have been saying on here but the large majority have been slightly deluded making comments like we are going to "smash them. "
And when we have suggested anything, the reply has been we are jist doing fine and your overreacting!

What thise people do not understand is that you need to aim for perfection every single time as the competition is relentless.
This is the difference between Klopp compared to Mourinho and Pep - this is why neither of them acceot anything less.

Also Klopp should have played a full strength team in the Carabo cup.
Only today I have read xomments about how our bench is not as stronh as other teams - yet many were saying we had an amazing bench.

This is not the Bundsliga or any other league. This league, the teams in it do not stand still - improving in everyway is mandatory and Klopp does not seem to understand this conscept.

{Ed0333's Note - the reason our bench was not amazing was because Hendo, Lovren and Keita we’re injured.

Let's not forget how that European super force, the ultra dazzling man City got nicely beaten by. (drum roll) the mighty Wigan athletic last year. Don't count chickens my friends. Can city get beat at Stamford Bridge? Of course they can. At old Trafford, Wembley, yes they can and we will have our two points back (that, let's be honest, were robbed from us)

{Ed025's Note - bloody hell robbie it was a disallowed goal not the end of the world ffs, get over it mate its not that big a deal..

However putting a slightly better spin on it, next week we have Fulham at home, they leak goals for fun, we should win that game comfortably. City I think are away to United. Now Jose is master of pulling off the big result. So if City only get a draw and we beat Fulham back to all level in the leauge again. I know it's straw clutching but we are still in it.

Klopp signed fab, Keita van dijke and Alison, oh and shaqiri this year. And he doesn't understand improvement? Ridiculous post.

YIKES, no wonder we have not won the PL in near 3 decades. We give up so easily as soon as adversity rears it's ugly head if I can even call being two points off the table adversity. Do people think City is just going to let us wrest the title from them w/ o a fight? No way on earth that is happening so if we are not ready to give them a fight then we might as well all pack it in and go home right now.

Also, Has anyone seen the table? We are two points off City. "We don't know if City will lose points". Did anyone think they would lose points to Wolves in a game they actually did not play well in? Also, Spurs had enough chances to take a point vs City as they did not play well there either. Klopp and the boys are ready to take City on and all we can do is support and believe in them instead of throwing in the towel 11 games in. Have some belief, people!

Exactly BRover. We drew a game against a team that’s won 11 of the their last 12 games in their own backyard. We had enough chances to win the game and had the goal not been disallowed I think we’d have won comfortably.
City were a Lamela shank away from dropping points at Wembley in a game where they were poor. They are not unbeatable.
If you give them the type of space Southampton did though they will destroy you.
It’s a long season a games come thick and fast. They will have a bad spell at some point, we just have to make sure we take advantage when they do.
