Watched a cracking show on Sky earlier chaps with Fowler watching some and discussing some of his highlights alongside Gary Neville. Said a few interesting things such as he much preferred scoring tap ins and got a greater sense of satisfaction from them as opposed to his worldys such as his volley against Villa. He said any mediocre player on his day can pull one out of the bag and hit a beauty but when he scored the poachers efforts he felt like he was doing his job for the team.

He also made a good point about managers he played for that I never really thought about. Said that the likes of Shearer and Owen had teams built around them and their strengths at club and international level. But he never really got that. I suppose Mcmanaman and then Owen and later on Gerrard were the ones the team was centred around during his time. Real shame because I worshipped him when I was a kid and was really nice to see some moments I forgot. Worth a look if you get a chance!

He’s the reason I support Liverpool, idolised him growing up and then when he left I had a choice, follow the player of the club and as they say the rest is history.

Favourite moment will always be the celebration along the touch line to though.

He's an absolute legend, what a player, what a man, what a legend! My boy wasn't around when Fowler was playing but the other day he was watching youtube videos of him lol he's red through and through, I was so happy to see it. Many youngsters now won't know who the legends of the game are! luckily my lad knows all about Fowler (he had no choice tbh) .

Thanks for the recommendation Bledd, will have to try and find it mate.

My fav player growing up. Absolute cracking player and seems to come across great in interviews too.

Went to an agent with him and mcateer at the end of last year. Really interesting and hilarious stories which I wouldn’t repeat on the forum. Incredibly nice guy.

No surprises that Walter’s all time favourite player is Gary Neville 😬.

I haven't seen him in his glory days but from the enormous amount of respect and awe of his natural talent from you guys especially Ed001 who will just time travel to that period through the memories felt I missed something. But this is a new one. Team not around him but still got lots of admirers means that's some talent. Some will ask me to check highlights but those can make anyone worldie.

He genuinely was stg. I work with an Arsenal fan who was only saying the other day he was one of his favourite players. Best thing about him was he didn't look like he should be that good! Never lightning fast but so technically good and clever. That's why despite the trophies Houllier won it always leaves a sour taste the way he got rid of Fowler.
