We all know how the press are. They look for non existent stories to sell papers. In my opinion the only reason why Mo isn’t smiling is he knows he isn’t performing to the same level as last year and missing chances mere humans miss. Last night he missed a couple of chances. He is upset with himself. Not at anybody else. He isn’t looking to leave. He isn’t unhappy with the kit man or the sous chef or the weather. Mo smiles when he’s performing at his highest level target. That’s all.

Agree completely, moreover I think they are avoiding the big jumping on celebrations to avoid aggravating an injury that hasn’t 100% healed.

Enough of the body language experts. He could just have a sore tooth for all you know. Lol.

Dont forget he has already had his agents asking real and Barcelona for a job.
I think he's thinking about a move. I think he is gone in the summer. Hopefully he will play his heart out this season for us, then we sell at a profit.

Mo could never play for us again and we would make a profit. he was a steal.

We've had players signing new 5 year contracts, celebrating goals wildly and then putting in a transfer request 5 months later. So body language now, is not always indicative of what the player's intentions are. I much rather believe that Salah's muted body language is more a reaction to not having the kind of form he had the second half of last year. When you have enough people around you telling you that you're amazing and a superman rolled into one, you have a tendency to believe it and then when reality hits, it can be difficult to cope with. Until you become amazing and superman, once again. 😉.

Eds

Any view on this?

{Ed001's Note - on the fact he didn't celebrate to a degree approved by TV commentators? No, it is a nonsense story out of nothing.}

Nice to have it confirmed Ed01.

{Ed001's Note - the problem with the modern day era is that there is a demand for new news every single second of the day, so they just turn anything into a news story, even when there is nothing there.}

Spot on Ed1 and Ra. People are looking into it far too much.

Of course, Ed. If Salah does not score, the media throw a hissy fit. Salah scores a brace BUT cos he did not celebrate the way the media pundits wanted, they still throw a hissy fit. Can't win with these guys. The worst thing tho, is that some in the fan base eat that nonsense up and start whinding people up on SM, making pointless and basement assumptions on a totally NOTHING-story.

{Ed001's Note - it is the way it is these days sadly. Too many people trying to make a living out of writing about football and not enough stories to go round so they have to make stories out of nothing.}

Combined with salah asking his team to sound out Real, Issues with Egyptian FA, injury, little pre-season and a clear behaviour change with his celebrations iI think it's fair to wonder if something is up. But drawing connections and making out that speculation is fact is where it goes too far.

I've seen salah score massive goals with little more than a tongue and a smile. He went mental in the city games but he's usually cool. Factor into this his average form and the low level of opposition and I think its understandable. Will salah spend the rest of his career at Liverpool? I hope so but it's just as likely that he will move on one day. We should enjoy a fantastic player who is at our club now.

I didn't see the lack of celebration and worry, in fact I saw a steely determination to mo, a determination to get back to his best and it gave me goose bumps.

If he isn't happy and is angling for a move then oblige him, get the money and move on. Sick of these players with a face like a smacked arse even though there millionaires for playing football, make them live with a family for a month were both parents are working 12 hour shifts and are using food banks to feed there kids because there pay is so poor. They'd have a have a smile on them like Jim Carey in the mask just taking a throw in. Rant over, just sick of these gobrubbishs not appreciating the privilege life they lead.

I really understand and appreciate what you saying Waro, but everyone from every walk of life have problems that sadden them, including millionaires. what happiness money brings when a young loved one is dying of illness and no amount of money in the world can save them . Anyway, if he (Salah) does want to smile and jump like a clown every time he scores its up to him . as a Liverpool fan as long as he scores I'll be smiling for him.

he missed a lot of chances so would probably greet the goal with relief rather than joy. He is still not where he wants to be performance wise so see it as a good thing. He will not be happy until he is banging them in for fun. let's see his face when he scores important goals in important games!

I think the bigger concern here is Firmino. Did anyone notice how uncommitted his celebratory leap was? i've seen him achieve close to a metre of air in the past and yesterday he barely cleared the blades of grass. PSG, maybe?

Spot on, RedLorry. Cos Salah did not celebrate to some people's liking, they start coming up with half-baked theories out of thin air. This is a NOTHING-burger triggered by the media and you guys are all eating it up without any left overs.

Also, Enough with this "he's angling for a move to Madrid" stuff. That is OLD news and not sure if that is till on the table. Besides, RM don't want him nor Hazard really. Neymar is who they really wanted and that ain't happening anytime soon, either. And even if RM came calling, they won't be able to afford him cos we will stick them for every penny they got (Coutinho's fee would be pocket change for what FSG would want) and take Asensio as first installment. Complete nothing-story. Move on, Sheesh!

I think it's the same thing. He has not been playing as well as he did last year. Also the opposition is not the highest level. When we beat napoli we will see the boys going mad when they score.

Firmino would be crazy to go to psg. Liverpool have a higher profile.
