What happened to divock origi eds I thought he had potential when he came here are Everton after him is he just not good enough.

{Ed001's Note - he just never got the run of games he needed to really develop and had a few issues on loan.}

Shame about the lad, I don't know what went on in the background but I really thought he'd make it with us. Same goes for Solanke though, still very young of course but will he make it with us? I have my doubts personally. I think both players have a lot to offer but who you going to take off for one of them? that's the biggest issue imo especially when you have an in form Sturridge on the bench, the poor buggers don't stand a chance, just bad timing because of how quality the squad is at the moment.

{Ed001's Note - the issue with Origi is his loan move did not work out, for a number of reasons. That has left him on the outside looking in.}

I've seen a few reports recently, he's being linked with a few clubs what are apparently interested, do you know of any truth to this rumour mate? sounds like he's on his way out to me, which tbh sounds like the best course of action for both the club and the player.

{Ed001's Note - we tried to sell him in the summer and he is still available. Though they are not against the right loan either.}

Interesting, thanks very much Ed.

{Ed001's Note - personally I would look to sell Solanke of the two, but there you go.}

I'd agree with that because I see Origi being a good player given half the chance (which he's never going to get at Liverpool), he certainly has the potential there as does Solanke, just not for us.

I must admit though, seeing the youngsters fail at our club really does do my head in a bit because so many of them never get the chance they deserve, having said that, when you have a quality squad like ours, how can they get their chance. We have young Wilson out on loan who looks very good but would he get anywhere near our team? I highly doubt it. Fingers crossed for him, he is one I have high hopes for. Time will tell I suppose.

{Ed001's Note - I personally think Solanke was a mistake. He is a good player but I see nothing in him to suggest he is good enough for Liverpool.}

Have to feel sorry for both players there careers are just put on hold for maybe years. Think you have to be very special to be able get into forward position at the club.

Think we could use Origi as cover for the wings (I’m sure I read once that that’s his preferred position) . I still think the lad has something to offer.

I think it was you Ed001 who said something similar to this and best describes the Solanke situation. While playing with the second teams and/ or U18's or U23's, he was physically intimidating and imposing and could therefore be effective. But at the highest level, everyone is physically at a similar or superiror level and he is consequently having the adaptation problems.

Since we are on the subject of physical presence and development, Ed001, do you think Woodburn is having similar problems? Is his growth affecting his ability to play football with the same effectiveness as when he first played games for the first team as a 17 year old? Just wondering.

{Ed001's Note - yes it was me about Solanke but I don't see the same issue with Woodburn who was always small.}

Thanks Ed001 👍.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome. It is, imo, probably why Woodburn has had to develop such good technical skills and tight control. He has always been small and slight, so can be knocked about and needs the ability to keep hold of the ball while being knocked all over the place. It should help him in the future.}

Sure, Ed001. We've seen examples of small scrawny kids (Messi, Zico and Zola come to mind) who developped enough technical skills to be able to overcome their physical "disadvantages".

Do you think Keita is too small for the EPL? Seen him get pushed around and off the ball, a bit.

{Ed001's Note - no I don't. He is a similar physique to Kante, small but wiry. Even so, if you are not prepared to face the physicality present, it can take time to adjust. I think he will be fine, once he does adjust.}

I thought that when we got both Kieta and Fabino, the midfield would be sorted, but I didn't factor in the adjustments the Ed has mentioned, but they will come good, both are great players .

Keita seems to be struggling to adapt a little bit but what a bloody player he is, I've seen enough of him to know he will make it here, I see him being just as good as the best (Kante) . As everybody knows, it can take a player upto even a couple of years to adapt to a new club/ league, I don't think it'll take that long for Keita, I reckon by the end of the season people will be looking at him and saying 'wow' because he is capable of greatness.

I hope Woodburn stays and gets a chance in the end and doesn’t end up like Suso who had to leave to get the proper management/ direction to thrive and come into his own elsewhere.
