I remember when I was in High School there were 5 wonderkids born in 1991 that everyone I knew who was interested in football thought would become world class. Can anybody guess who they are? Clue -2 currently play in the Premier League, 1 in La Liga, 1 in the Bundisliga and 1 in the Championship.

Hazard, Lukaku, Butland, Reus?

You got Hazard correct. 4 more to go.

Coutinho, Götze, Salah

(Can’t think of anyone in Championship) better let someone else have a go 😄.

Those are good shouts as all 3 were wonderkids but sadly all 3 were born in 1992 so it isn't them. 1 is a Liverpool player I will give you that clue.

I’m just guessing without googling dates of birth. 😄
I’m going to let someone else have a go as this will get embarrassing 😉.

Firmino?

7.) 13 Oct 2018

Close Salah but not him. Since Firmino is one of only 2 Liverpool players born in 1991 I'm sure you know who now.

Correction 3 Liverpool players born in 1991. It's not Van Dijk and Firmino so that leaves.

Henderson?

{Ed001's Note - wasn't Matip born in 91?}

My minds blank I can't do it without cheating lol.

I clean forgot about Joel Matip! My bad! The Liverpool player is Shaqiri.

{Ed001's Note - I thought Shaqiri had already been said sorry.}

Kroos, muller and pieters?

13.) 13 Oct 2018
13 Oct 2018 11:19:17
Zaha?

14.) 13 Oct 2018
13 Oct 2018 11:21:36
James Rodriguez, Oscar.

15.) 13 Oct 2018
13 Oct 2018 11:22:14
Hazard, Griezmann, James Rodriguez, Shaqiri and Bojan.

16.) 13 Oct 2018
13 Oct 2018 11:41:24
I thought about Bojan, but didn't realise he still played for Stoke!

17.) 13 Oct 2018
13 Oct 2018 11:42:39
Hazard, Shaqiri, Griezmann and James are correct so just the Championship player left.

18.) 13 Oct 2018
13 Oct 2018 12:23:54
Jack Rodwell.

19.) 13 Oct 2018
13 Oct 2018 12:25:13
Is the Championship player Nelson Oliveira at Norwich?

20.) 13 Oct 2018
13 Oct 2018 12:34:21
Andreas Wiemann.

21.) 13 Oct 2018
13 Oct 2018 12:45:18
Jack Rodwell is correct. So now that all 5 have been revealed. What's everyone's thoughts on how they developed? How did they either fulfil their potential or how did they fail to do so?

Good quiz, Oubaas!

I reckon Hazard, Griezmann and James = yes on potential

Rodwell = no

And Shaqiri = not yet but hopefully very very soon!

Whether they lived up to their supposed potential of 'world-beaters'?

Hazard: Yes, especially now that he seems to be adding (more) goals to his game under Sarri.

Griezmann: Yes although he seems rather conceited and sometimes does disappear in big games.

James: No. Plays well under certain circumstances but he's nowhere near world-class. Too slow in the mind imo.

Rodwell: Lol

Shaqiri: No, and I don't think he'll ever become world-class. That doesn't mean I don't like him or rate him though, I think he's a good player who's applied himself well whenever he's had a chance with us. But I get the feeling it's too late for him to reach that upper echelon.

Zed, I disagree on Shaqiri. Shaqiri's development has been as good, if not better than James Rodriguez's. Shaqiri has represented his country (playing very well) twice in the World Cup, already. And he's put on the jersey of some of Europe's top clubs; with Stoke being a blip of sorts (one could argue James warming the bench for Real Madrid for an entire season is about the same) .

I would say both have performed on a very similar level in their careers. Maybe not world-beaters, but then every player with potential can't be a Ballon d'Or winner either. So if James has made it, then I would suggest Shaqiri has too.

Will Hughes? Everyone expected big things from him at one point.

Fair points Ra and Zpecial one, perhaps James joins Shaqiri in the ‘not yet/ not quite’ category.

Would agree to that Zed.

It was all mistake when Rodwell went to City, that got his carrer going down since.
