I am curious to know of the Ed’s or other posters opinion on Curtis Jones, Yasser Larouci and Edvard Tagseth? They were recently named on the Guardians 60 most talented players born in 2001.
I have only seen glimpses of Jones during the recent pre season tour and have never seen the other 2 play.

{Ed001's Note - not seen enough of them to judge them mate sorry.}

Whilst all still ultimately considered kids there is a view that they could turn into good players Jones, tagseth, larouci in that order.

Jones has shown he has a lot of potential, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him play a few times this season. Good dribbler with an eye for a pass he isn’t afraid to get stuck in. One of Gerard’s personal favourites, he has been improving and shown in preseason some flavour of what he can do.

Tagseth small yet mighty he was very much praised by Gerrard as well showed his quality at the U18 level good in the tackle and has shown decent positional awareness to break down attacks and recycle possession confidently.

Lastly larouci, very highly rated in France from the famous la havre youth school, took a while to settle due to various reasons very quick and skillful winger, been moved to Left back and since Adam Lewis has taken the step up hopefully we will see more opportunity.

Few others to mention: Bobby Duncan, Rys Williams and Rafa Camacho.

I think FINALLY since the days Rafa overhauled our youth system we are seeing the players and coaching needed to help push success in the system.

Ultimately we want to see more Trent’s coming through the system and with the teams increasing quality hopefully we will see some of these guys match that.

Id agree with pretty much everything said here by Southern.
Jones looks great. If he keeps working hard I reckon he will make it.
Tagseth has a lovely left foot (but needs to realise his right foot is good for something other than standing on) . However he seems to be getting injured way too much. Could be because he is still getting used to the physicality of the league but it might hold him back.
There is some real competition amongst the youngsters which is great.

Cheers lads, it’ll be interesting to see if these kids can make the breakthrough into the first team over the next couple of years.
