Sad times Jimmy’s injured!

I feel like this is the moment we bring in Fabinho next too games, hopefully shouldn’t be too difficult and get him valuable minutes.

Same goes for Keita, clearly not quite clicking for him he needs to have a game or two with a bit more space then usual to get his rhythm.

I hope Shaqiri is given a chance as an ACM role as it has shown we need someone in that role exploiting the space between defence and midfield.

Milly is a fit lad. but a month (at least, according to reports) on sidelines from a hammie might help Fab and Nobby to gain valuable first team experience as you say.

Or the mentor steps down and the pupil (trent) steps up. Shaq is not defence minded enough to play in a midfield three.

Mane man, I had no assumption he is a defensive player I think for lower level teams having a fluid 3 which works on a 2 man base and one pushing forward helps to break teams down.

Fair enough SR. I like shaq, since he has joined he has played well when called upon. And scored a winning over head kick against. Wait for it. Utd! I was shocked when klopp subbed him in the shampton game, but I understand why he did it. Shaq had helped us into a dominating position and klopp wanted to make sure it stayed that way.

I think shaq has more chance breaking into that front 3 atm.

I'm expecting fabhino to become massive. I really think he is going to take this league by storm. I don't know why. I notice something in him, a strength of character that I think will come through to his play. After the next window he won't be considered the new lad anymore and I think him and Keita will kick on from that.

That is a good wish, I expect Kieta - hendo and Wiji to play the midfield. Shaq still on the bench.

What if we had signed Fekir instead? He too is a playmaker and the argument “ He doesn’t work hard to play in the midfield “ would still stand?
At home you don’t need 3 Workman midfield! Nobody is coming to us that we need a 3 men walk in the middle.

We need more goals!
City decided to sit back and contain us and what did the 3 men hard working midfielders did in return? Nothing really!

I would argue their midfield 3 did nothing also though Harry. The 2 Silvas were largely anonymous and Fernandinho should’ve had about 4 yellow cards.

If salah had passed wjinaldum would have scored.

Also Harry if we’d signed Fekir we’d now have a very expensive injured player.

Fekir is a very hardworking player out of possession so I don't think he would have had a problem with that. He also has dodgy knees BUT feel free to moan cos Klopp did not do what you wanted. Shaq has a tendency for being lazy out of possession (that was his main issue at Stoke) and the system we play requires ALL midfielders to do the job, with or w/ o the ball. Shaq is not ready to play the 10 the way Cou and Ox played it as in, with skill, guile, and superb work ethic esp. out of possession.

Until Shaq can do that and earn Klopp's trust in that way, he will continue to start on the bench. The Saint s game is your example if you are actually being honest. So if people have issues with Shaq not starting, they should direct their grief to Shaq, and not Klopp. It is up to him to earn Klopp's trust, the same way Ox did.

The way i see it we have clamoured for a bigger squad with greater depth and quality, so while i’m gutted for Milner, i’m not phased about it one bit and i’m actually looking forward to seeing what the 3 midfielders we spent about £100 million on in the summer can do.

Spot on, AW. next man up and based on the squad we have and competition for places, Fab, Lallana and Naby should be chumping at the bit to get in the starting eleven now.

If and but Bobby? City came for a point and they got it. They are still top of the league and they knew a point is better than no point and 3 points to Liverpool. Now we might need all 3 points at Ethihad by the time we play them there.
No problem if you are ok with that 3 men workhorse midfield. A few have concerns including me! Let it be like that. It’s called perception and opinions!
Klopp chased Fekir all summer and was only inches away from signing him ( Money ) . So I guess he too is aware of the issues in midfield.
If not today we will buy one and then we can see the difference.

So Shaqiri doesn’t work hard to get into the midfield but does just enough to get into the front three? Wow! Now that’s what you call “Pure rubbish”.

The front three works more than anyone in our system. The press starts from the front which is why Sturridge never gets a nod!
So you are ok having a lazy player playing upfront and not in midfield.

Which trust are people talking here? He played brilliant against Southamton and suddenly the trust vanished!
Man some people make this site even more interesting!

And boy AOC never played a number 10. He is a direct player similar to kieta but less in terms of vision and close control. Purest form of number 10 is Mezut ozil!

The whole team works hard Harry, but none more than the midfield, or the "engine" of the team.

Some players have more defensive discipline than others, the front 3 do not have to have the same defensive discipline as the midfield 3, I don’t understand how this is a difficult to understand.

Kramer
It is difficult to understand coz we bought a player paying money to do a job and knew his capabilities, strength and weakness in well adavance.

There is no defensive discipline. We are counter pressing team and attack the opposition players when we lose the ball to turnover the possession resulting in our own attack with full pace either in our own half or high up.

Shaqiri could press and that is all you need from a CAM. He is no Makalele. He is a skilled player like your Fekir, Salah or Mane.

The team plays with 2 or more holding players resulting in very less chance created and goals scored. You could afford to drop one defensive minded midfielder for Shaqiri keeping both Wijnaldum / Henderson in the team.

I am pretty sure you will lose this argument if klopp pays him in the midfield against Huddersfield!

Shaqiri was never signed to start in the front three, if he doesn’t fit anywhere else then it’s a poor signing imo!

Playing in midfield against Huddersfield is different to playing in midfield against Manchester City.
