Last night was the worst game of football I've seen in a long time. Both teams were shocking, though Napoli ultimately deserved the victory. I'm not sure if the team is tired or was instructed to play for a draw but I can't get over how lethargic we were. It was like the players hadn't played together before. Was baffled by Fabinho's introduction with Shaqiri and Sturridge on the bench. Alisson was the only one who I thought had a particularly good game.

One loss really isn't the end of the world, but the manner in which is happened is frustrating. Just want to watch a good game of football, which with Liverpool is almost never an issue.

Eamon I agree and the match was dismal.
Partly because Napoli did a good job of shutting us down and partly because we played really poor.
Ancellotti will be happy, as his team chased and gave us no time on the ball, but they were helped by the fact that Mane continued to run aimlessly into dead ends, Salah was dreadful again, Firmino didn't get a look in, our midfield was second best all night, and defensively in the last 15 mins, we lost concentration.
Hope for a better result on Sunday but I am not confident at all.

The stadium is a good point. I expected a hostile loud atmosphere but it felt like a preseason game.

I’ve seen a lot worse than that in recent times but Liverpool’s performance was definitely poor.

I thought Napoli played really well assisted by some generous decisions with respect to yellow cards.

We didn’t get going, something is definitely wrong with Salah and for my money he is not worth his place in the team. I’d bring Shaq in against City. Salah looks like he needs some time off to get his head together.

I'm surprised Liverpool did not react better to a back 5. They should be used to teams doing that to them. Having said that, I still think we will go through and probably win the group. I can't wait for Napoli to come to Liverpool. PSG will play their best when we go to Paris and they will leave themselves open in the back. I can't wait for that match.

I was very shocked at around 65 mins in to see 11 Liverpool players in our own half, whilst Napoli were passing it around the back. It really did feel like we went there to draw and it backfired.

We have unfortunately moved on from that blistering all out attacking philosophy. Something that served as our identity!

Harry, don't take this the wrong way but have you ever considered saying something positive or is that too much to ask? I do question, sometimes, if you're even a LFC fan!

yes, we played really poor football, and lots for Klopp to look at be4 the City game,
with 5 mins to go, Napoli were throwing everything at us, what is wrong with holding our fullbacks and playing for the draw, we got caught out, and to be fair, Napoli really did deserve to win,
Liverpool did nothing to claim a win,
would I have taken Salah off,
yes I would have subbed him at half time,
we needed some energy up front, and, sorry Salah needs some time off to re charge and come back stronger,
would I play Salah V Man City,
no, this game is way too important, we can't be carrying any passengers,
play the Shaq .

Our last 6 games have been against Spurs, Southampton, PSG, Chelsea twice and Napoli, all massive games apart from the Southampton game and all games in which we have been pushed right until the end except for the Southampton game. It’s only normal that there is a drop in performance after so many tough games and luckily our next 6 games after Sunday are a lot more manageable.

Toe knee harry is definitely a Liverpool fan mate just a very excitable one and comes out with rash comments and makes zero sense most of the time, he generally wants the best for Liverpool at heart. Altho seems to think he can do a better job than klopp at times and has love for midfielders that don't play for us he is still a red tho.

All valid points, lads. Mane really needs to get his ear pulled for his penchant for playing for himself at times. There were times that it seemed he was more concerned with showing that he can resist multiple challenges instead of playing smart football. We were poor and that is that. Learn the lessons, get better, prepare well for City and burn the tape of the game after analysing it and move on. Up Da Pool!
