I've seen a few posts worried that some on here are being extremely negative and knocking our players. I don't think people are generally knocking our players. On the most part I think many of the fans on here have been fairly decent and just expressed some concerns BUT almost all of them have said how wonderful our results are given we haven't been "firing on all cylinders" so far. That's not a negative point but extremely positive in my opinion.

The good points for all of us to remember:
1] The mark of potential champions is not the occasional fantastic results but getting the points on the board even when playing badly (or poorer than expected) . This sums us up at the moment.
2] Weak areas have been improved in the transfer windows. I think most would agree that our defence and goalkeeping is stronger and more settled. I can personally say I haven't felt so confident in our backline since the original SAS pairing.
3] Studge has been like a new signing since his loan. He looks like he's improved his strength and will be a major impacting substitute this year. It also means we worry less about the impact of injury on our frontline.
4] Shaqiri has made me eat humble pie! I'm surprised at his work ethic and am generally overjoyed with his impact on our overall team depth.
5] Our team spirit seems excellent. For those doubting it just take another look at what happened after Studge equalised against Chelsea. take a look at the made embrace and celebration between Klopp and Mignolet. Our strength and resolve with this team spirit could be a determining factor in the title race. Four squads have a clear, good team atmosphere (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City) and to see the effect. one only need look at the very obvious example of Manchester United to see problems of a negative team spirit at the moment.

If we do start firing on all cylinders then the EPL and UCL better watch out. YNWA.

Really good post Reynard. All points are valid, but particularly #1 and #5. In years past we would have potentially lost he Chelsea match, probably dropped points in one or two other matches this season. The fact that we are finding ways to win matches when not at our best is an extremely positive sign. On #5, it's been a while since I've seen a Liverpool team look as close as they do now. They all seem to genuinely like and support one another. I don't see the factions or silos that there have been in the past or what you currently see at other clubs namely Man U. I think the club has done a really good job of buying players to fit within the team and everyone is buying in to the system. It's really fantastic to watch.

Midfield is not improved IMO! Don’t shoot me down but we are still playing last years midfield! No goals from midfield!

Good post man. I said something yesterday about salah and the pressure of being pl player of the year. It was a concern, not me knocking mo. I also said I think he will click soon. And like you say, we are stilling getting the points. And the front three/ four are all scoring.

Sturridge has to be considered for a start now. He has to be. We have a lot of games. Now I'm over the pain of getting beat by Chelsea, I'm now genuinely pleased that we are out of the league Cup. Focus on the big 2.

{Ed025's Note - in my honest opinion MM you should never be pleased to lose in any competition, the league cup is a legitimate competition and a great chance to give youngsters and fringe players a platform to show how good they are and how they are progressing mate..

Spot on, OP. Brilliant post. MM, Studge "has" to start. In place of who, exactly? Bobby when fit? Good luck with that, mate. IMO, Studge has realized that he woon't be the frequent starter and has accepted it cos at 29, he is nearing the end of his career. That much is a fact. He does not play the CF position the same way Bobbie plays it and his wonder strikes of late, will NOT change any of that.

What he has done and credit to him, is that he has realized that he is better being here than toiling somewhere else and remember, he loves the Klopp, the manager and his team mates. So what did he do? In the summer, he got fitter, stronger, and sharper and the preseason showed that, to the point of Klopp saying that Studger is in the best shape since he arrived at the club. This is why he is performing (even tho, he can do better) right now cos he is fitter and when you are fitter, you are stronger mentally and then you can do THAT! Just my take, bro.

Well said ED25.

We should never ever paly for a loss or play a weakened team.

I was so annoyed we are out of that cup, 7 matches in to the season and 2 games in that week and we can not play our strongest team because they need to be rested and when they were rested, some that came back went missing at times.

We actually lost momentum which is what people do not realise.

Chelsea used the cup game to be more mentally assured of a result for the league game on Saturday.

{Ed025's Note - momentum is very important in any sport RK, that winning mentality is what makes champions stand out from the also rans, im not saying liverpool did not try or were not indeed the better side at anfield, but i do have a problem when supporters are happy that their team got knocked out mate..

To be fair Ed25.several fringe players were given opportunity in that game and were not really good enough. Not happy we went out though. any silverware is better than none.

{Ed025's Note - getting beaten happens RaL to every team, my only issue is how a supporter can be happy about it mate..

Spot on, Ed. Anyone saying "Oh, just as well. The EFL Cup is a Mickey Mouse Cup anyway" is lying to him/ her/ themselves, end of story. I don't like losing even a friendly so why would I accept losing a Cup game at home vs the chelsea? Now, I will say that us losing the Cup game did not dampen our momentum or lour determination to make up for it on Sat and our performance showed that tho, we could have won, They could have won as well and since neither team did not deserve to lose, a draw is a fair result. And mind you, getting a 10 points out of 12 from Chelsea, Palace, Leicester and Spurs (all away from home) is NOTHING to sneeze at. The momentum is there and we got to keep it going.

{Ed025's Note - momentum is still with you brover, as i said the only beef i had was a supporter being happy with the team going out of a competition mate..
