Thanks Ed. Is lovren and modric looking at jail time as well?

{Ed002's Note - The Modric charge is not new and to some extent this is an old story. It won't go away completely but in the worst case scenario for the players if they cannot take a plea based deal and get a short suspended sentence would potentially be a visit to the big house. The whole matter has been dragging on for years and years.}

Thanks Ed001!

I do marvel at the potential of players like Ampudu, Sancho and Brewster (to name a few) . I know its like finding a needle in a haystack, but it saddens me that teams like Falkirk are closing down their academies. I'm sure I'm over-romanticising the good old days, but its sad that, if this becomes the norm, players like TAA won't have obvious routes into their local clubs.

How would you address the issue and what's your views on the role of the academy system in the game today?

{Ed001's Note - I don't think the academy system works personally. Less quality players have come through in recent years in large part due to the academy system handing them everything on a plate from a young age. They need to earn it. They need to be shown that they have to perform before they get the good stuff. None of this playing on beautiful pitches in brand new kits and boots. That doesn't happen in countries that produce a production line of talent compared to population size such as Uruguay.}

Cheers Ed, absolutely shocking about Ramos though, who'd of thought? ;) have a great day mate!

{Ed001's Note - hard to believe mate. So not like Ramos or anyone Spanish to be involved in any kind of action outside of the rules.}

Thanks ed. Have a great day mate. My Thursdays almost over, but spring is in the air, suns out, city lost and liverpool are so good right now that I'm not used to it. Lifes good👍.

{Ed001's Note - it is a beautiful day. Lyon could have won by a bigger margin as well. Again a team that goes at Citeh gets a result, so why do so many just fold against them? Lyon are nothing special, but City made them look it last night.}

Thanks for the review Ed. 37 CL yellows by Ramos is quite an impressive stat. Dirty Ramos. I really hope we get the opportunity to play Real Madrid this season in the CL.

{Ed001's Note - I don't, I want them out in this round and not qualify for next year's.}

Thanks Ed. I agree, I want them out as well. I think Ramos should just start every game with a yellow just to get it out of the way. Have a great day.

{Ed001's Note - I think every player on the opposition should be allowed a free hit on him, as he has had years of doing so to every one else, it only seems fair.}

Great review Ed001
I would of loved to have seen a ramos come up against a John Fashanu or Alan Cork type player.
Someone to smash him into next week with a good honest 50/ 50 challenge
I have noticed he moans a lot when playing this type of player hence why he hated playing against Diego Costa
Ed001 in your time who is the best big man you have seen play up front?
Im probably going Toshack.

{Ed001's Note - he was before my time. Drogba would be the best of my time.}

Drogba - remarkable player. No opposition player has ever made me more nervous than up to now than him.

Drogba was a great player but not only that, most importantly a great person, half of the money he has earnt (or more) has gone towards building new schools etc he's something different that fella. What a man, what a player.

Teams with big target men like Paris and spurs is easy for van dijk, part of the reason I'm looking forward to the utd games. Van dijk will have lukaku in his pocket.

Mane man, the same way van dijk had him in his pocket when he was involved in both of utd's goals when we lost there last season?

@Johncrow Junior
I don’t need any invitation to pass by nostalgia corner, so I’m going to suggest Malcom MacDonald pre his knee injury problems at Arsenal.
Hugely quick, powerful, great header.
Such was his physical capabilities, I think he’d make it in the modern game today.
Best target man for me.
