Looks like it will be pot 3 for us with Benfica comfortably ahead in their qualifying game tonight.

Just means there could be a group of death iand one or two of the big European sides might be worried about getting us in group stage.

Hopefully we get the chance to meet Real Madrid and sort them out.

I’ll be happy with that. In recent years I’ve seen some terrible games against so called lesser European teams.

Bring them on 💪.

Does anyone think that there is a team in the Champions League LFC can't beat. I don't think there is a single group that would be scary to get out of. I have not been this confident in LFC in over 10 years. Im also confident in the depth to challenge in all 4 competition. I fully expect to see silverware this season.

I just can't stomach the thought of another away trip to Rome, bloody scum. I'd also love to avoid us travelling too far mid-week.

Completely with you there 420, give us any team because it makes no difference imo, we'll smash the majority of the so called big teams, we're the big team to be watching now, we'll be underestimated as per usual and we'll thrive because of it.

I would like us to wrap the group up by gameweek 5 so we can manage the players and help with fatigue.

Anfield will carry us to the knock outs comfortably.

Salah, great to see you back mate and hope recovery going well. Totally agree with your post, as well as the other posts re not worrying who we get. In any sport/ competition you have to beat the best somewhere along the line to win it. If it’s in the earlier rounds it can create confidence and momentum and help progression. I think we are now equipped to compete with the “big guns”. Not saying we are nailed on winners, but will give any team a game. Let’s just take what comes, be confident and enjoy the ride. There is a good chance we may be there or there abouts come finals day.

Not scared of anyone but the point of the group stages is to get through with as little nerves and if possible, as little expenditure of energy as you can. So I'd be much happier with the weakest group than the strongest.

Agree with the sentiment Salah but do we really want to be giving our all to beat Real or Bayern when we could be wrapping up Moscow at half time and resting for the midweek game? Especially when we have some huge fixtures (most notably against City at home) sandwiched by CL games?

I can’t wait for the CL draw and for me I’m sat on the fence. Do I want a tough group where it will no doubt bring some great matches but be a risk or would I prefer a easier group like we had last season. I think a big factor is the premier league games we have straight after CL. Those are Spurs (A), Chelsea (A), Huddersfield (A), Arsenal (A), Watfors (A) and Bournemouth (A) . Just looking at those fixtures if we want to compete for the league then for me the easier the CL draw the better. Would be pretty tough taking on a Barca, Real, PSG, Juve, Dortmund etc midweek before traveling to a Spurs or Chelsea days later.

I'm loving all the positivity, "there's no team we can't beat, we'll get out of any group, nobody will want to play against us", it is such a pleasure to read this stuff. But, please when the draw happens don't come on and then be the whining supporter saying "oh they'll be tough to beat and oh I'm nervous of these guys". Save the whining and stay upbeat folks, re-read your posts above and stand by your comments.
