Where do I even begin? I just don't even know where to start and it's took me 5 minutes to get this far. Saying thank you to the god knows how many people who sent messages of support doesn't seem enough but it's all I can do right now so a HUGE thank you to each and every one of you, I was so emotional reading all of your messages and it takes a lot for things to get to me. Thank you to the eds, the posters and to the people who made an account to post, thank you, thank you, thank you. You have no idea how much it's meant to me and of course to my family.

I've always loved these sites, not just the Liverpool site but other ones as well and this just proves exactly why, we're a huge family here! the majority of people on the sites are bloody good people and we have the eds to thank for that, filtering out the trash and keeping it full of great people like yourselves. I could say thank you a thousand times but it'll never be enough. Your messages of support mean more then you all know and it's something I'll never forget, your kind words, support and best wishes truly shocked me so once again thank you.

After going through troubles in the past, these days I tend to always think 'everything happens for a reason' and I do still believe that. I have 2 broken ribs, a broken jaw, bit of a nasty gash to the head, and was stabbed in the cheek by a broken bottle. Because of my work, I've seen stuff like this before and some people aren't quite as lucky as I was. The way I look at things are, I'm lucky to be here and thankful for that, the bottle could've hit me in the neck you know? but it didn't, that wasn't meant to be. I'm also thankful my wife didn't find me, I'm thankful it wasn't in the daytime, my kids could've been playing out.

I'm just grateful it didn't happen to anybody else. I'd much rather it be me over friend, a loved one or one of you so we have to be thankful at times and try to convert negatives into positives. Life is far too short to hold grudges, I aren't angry at them, people make mistakes, they took it too far but that's life at times and I can only hope one day they will get on the right track. More then anything I feel sorry for them, they've ruined the next god knows how many years of their lives, all three have been arrested and one of them is in the same hospital as me right now which I'm not happy about and I wish him a speedy recovery, I wouldn't wish harm on nobody.

The only thing what does anger me is knowing my family, my friends and you great people worried about me, that hurts more then any injury and they buggered up my car, I've not seen it yet but apparently it's buggered but this is a good thing, if it wasn't for them smashing up the car my neighbour wouldn't of heard anything and I wouldn't of been found, they ran when he came outside you see so it's another positive!

God help you all now though, you should be careful what you wish for because once I get home you will get fed up of seeing my posts I'll be off work for quite some time and might never return we'll see. At a time like this it makes me think about life and what's most important, I want time with my family more then anything so that's what I'm going to do.

I noticed a few of you mentioned about setting up a fund page thing for me, again thank you but that really isn't needed, it is a really nice thought but I can't accept that, there's millions more people in need more then I am :) . I can't take peoples hard earnt money but thank you very much anyway.

Sorry I'm going on here aren't I, but before I finish a MASSIVE shout out to square tomato. Mate you have no idea how strong you are for speaking out like you have done, I have nothing but praise for you, what a man to be able to share that. I donate a hell of a lot to mental health charities every single month so believe me when I say it, I do care.

Times are tough at times mate, sometimes constantly but remember you have people who are more then willing to help you, if you want my number/ email address let me know. I'm available to talk to you at anytime of any day if you're in need. There's so many people who don't speak out, especially males. I just wish I could do more for you and turn it all off, it's just bloody horrible mate but know this, there's always a positive way out of it and you'll feel on top of the world when you get there and you mate, you have the mentality to get there you've proved that by been as strong as you are speaking out like you have done!

I think it's obvious that there's plenty of people on this website alone who are more then willing to help you by talking and without mentioning names there's quite a few people who have been through what your going through or are still going through it, people are here to help, always remember that mate :) . Hold your head up high and be bloody proud of yourself because you should be and you matter!

Apologies for the long post it could be longer trust me but I'll leave it at that, for now :) . Have a great day everybody, stay safe and just remember no matter what life throws at you, there's usually always a way out!

Oh one more thing, wow Liverpool, get in! was so looking forward to the bloody game and couldn't even watch it! I thought we'd do them but also thought it'd be one of them difficult games, I can't comment much about it without watching it but at least we got the three points! I can't wait to see us lifting that PL trophy at the end of this season because mark my words, it's happening!

{Ed001's Note - so glad to see you back. I finished the Jack Charlton article but was hanging on to send it to Ed033 to post up until you were back. Once they said you were likely to be in hospital a while, I thought it would at least give you something to read.

As for the fund me page, I was thinking you could have donated money to your chosen charity/s if you didn't need the money. It turns out that you need to be in the UK to set one up though, and they won't let me do so here, as I was trying last night. Up to you though, we could just forget the page and ask those who would have contributed to send that same donation to their chosen charity if you prefer? That is probably better anyway as I think go fund me take a cut anyway don't they?

Most importantly - Get Well Soon mate and good to have you back. Glad they caught the guys who did it too.}

Good to have you back Salah! I’ve been following this site for years but only now decided to register as your post has really made my day. I’m so glad to hear that you’re on the mend and not only that, you’ve responded so strongly to such an awful incident.

Your attitude is an inspiration and teaches us lessons we should all appreciate. Looking forward to seeing your positivity back on this page again! Much love YNWA.

Absolutely brilliant to see you back, Salah. Everyone has been on tenter-hooks waiting for any updates, or your first post back.

It's absolutely amazed me how this community has truly united over the previous days. We've had people signing up just to wish you well and even supporters from our so called 'bitter' rivals doing the same. I guess it just goes to show how right you've been all along; there is definitely a lot more to life than just football.

One thing it definitely shows is how respected and liked you are.

Speedy recovery, mate!

15.) 23 Aug 2018
23 Aug 2018 10:51:51
Glad to see you well enough to post Salah, sounds like you’ve had a right ordeal.
If a fund me page is set up don’t be too proud to accept it, get yourself a new car, pay any solicitors fees etc, like you say we are a big family here and we look after each other and we are proud to do so.
Try and find some positives in this crappy situation, I’ve seen you post before about your job, take the time to see what else is out there.
Also get onto your union or something regarding the scumbag sharing the same hospital as you, you may wish him a full recovery but he can do that somewhere else.
Sounds like it could have been a whole lot worse mate just keep your spirits up and look after your physical and mental health.

In solidarity and friendship
Mikey.

23 Aug 2018 10:53:18
Glad to see you’re back Salah, absolutely shocking what happened to you, I hope yourself and your family are ok and get through this together, I’ve been where you are now a few years ago, and the main thing that helped me through were my wife and kids. Thank your wife for taking the time keeping us informed of how you are.
Stay strong YNWA.

23 Aug 2018 10:55:55
Got a little tear in my eye there mate. Really happy you're ok. It takes a certain type of person to be able to forgive those who do things such as happened to you - and so soon. All I can say is you're a better man than me to be able to and exactly the sort of person who we should should all be proud to have watching over us on the streets. If those oiks think differently, well more fool them. I'm glad you're back mate.

So sorry to hear what's happened, I hope you make a speedy and full recovery. Your reaction to it speaks volumes for your character, don't let it eat you up.

23 Aug 2018 11:26:49
You are a very special person mate, even though I’ve never met you!

I could never be that magnanimous towards the people who did this to you, and that is a massive credit to you.

Take care, continue to mend, and post again soon!

I haven’t been able to do any one liners with you not around, so I can now look forward to a creative, comedic release!

Z.

Glad your on the mend Salah. Trust me when I say this there are some very nasty disturbed people in this world hopefully they get what they deserve but unfortunately the courts do not always dish out the punishment required
Anyways up the pool.

23 Aug 2018 12:11:36

23 Aug 2018 12:27:42
What happened was awful, but I guess the one little silver lining is that the website has been filled with positive messages of support. I'm sure Salah will be overwhelmed with the huge amount of support that has been sent out over the last couple of days.

LFC fans have actually backed up the famous YNWA statement! Great to see.

Big shout out to you Salah, you've clearly got a lot of fans and I think you may have moved into the position of being our favourite Salah!

Hope that you recover well YNWA.

31.) 23 Aug 2018
23 Aug 2018 12:32:28
So good to see you posting again Salah, the injuries will heal and you've already proven with that post that you're strong in head and heart already so that's all you need to wait on. YNWA buddy, even when it gets hard, keep your chin up, you'll be right as rain soon enough.

32.) 23 Aug 2018
23 Aug 2018 12:33:51
Great words Salah - spot on. So pleased you're on the mend pal and also that you're considering a job change. There's got to be something out there less risky and with your wise words and attitude, maybe something more fitting and rewarding? Looking forward to the rest of the season - let's see if LFC can keep up with Pompey - 4 wins from 4. All the very best.

33.) 23 Aug 2018
23 Aug 2018 12:48:32
So good to see you up and posting again. I’m wishing you a speedy recovery and I hope this does not scar you mentally. You can take comfort in the fact you have a great network of friends who are supporting you. YNWA.

34.) 23 Aug 2018
23 Aug 2018 12:49:39
Fantastic to hear you’re on the mend Salah, absolutely awful what happened. Perhaps if a fundraising page were to be put up, it could be donated to a mental health charity of your choice?

Great to see you back Salah. Speedy recovery mate.

36.) 23 Aug 2018
23 Aug 2018 12:57:50
I'm shocked, appalled and saddened at what was done to you Salah, truly vile and it's only right that the perpetrators are brought to justice. In spite of what was done to you, you're still thinking about others and are still able to see the positive side of things, and that says it all about your character, you have a big heart sir. I pray your recovery time is as short as possible and there are no lasting effects on you.

37.) 23 Aug 2018
23 Aug 2018 13:02:50
First and foremost great news you are on the mend mate, I think we all wish for a speedy recovery.

23 Aug 2018 13:06:15
Not really sure words will do justice to the support I am sending in your direction Salah. Your empathy and emotional awareness are the signs of someone very special and this site is a bettter place with you in it. Glad you are on the mend and I am sure like many here on this amazing site, we wish you and your loved ones a speedy recovery.

40.) 23 Aug 2018
23 Aug 2018 13:18:13
In response to Z's post above, for Salah's sake, someone needs to write a meaningless "what about" post to Ed002 just so he can respond with "this is the liverpool page". That way Z can get his creative juices flowing again and get Salah laughing.

41.) 23 Aug 2018
23 Aug 2018 13:23:10
So after all you went through you think now is the time to come out as a big softie?
Ya big girls blouse Salah.

This is the behaviour of a deranged sociopath. I almost feel sorry for them. It is disgusting. Take a step back people. A vile thing has entered this site. The world is so messed up, it breeds some messed up people.

I really feel for people who are hurt by this sort of thing. It makes me quite angry actually.

Ed1 thank you so much, I am yet to read it (I saw it was posted) but I am saving it for tonight when everybody goes home (a bit hectic in here) I am really looking forward to reading that, I've looked forward to it for quite some time now mate, also might give the Cruyff and Tyson ones another read because I loved them and always planned to read them again I just didn't have the time to do so.

Regarding the fund me thing, Ed1 you have hit the nail on the head, if anybody was going to donate anything to me then first of all a huge thank you but I'd ask whatever amount you were going to donate please donate it directly to a preferred charity. It's best going somewhere where an organisation can benefit from it. I honestly don't need any help financially, I'm not rich but I'm not poor either and so many people deserve it more than I do.

To everybody, I again, just can't thank you all enough, I have no words. The support and kind words thrown at me is a bit overwhelming, I'm not used to so many people saying good things about me so I appreciate every single word so damn much. You are all incredible people and I feel honoured to be part of this community, I have a surprise for everybody when I'm out of here.
If only I could meet every single one of you in person to say how thankful I am for your support, unfortunately that's pretty much impossible but I will be at the charity football match next year and I can't bloody wait to meet some of you, I'm hoping an Ed will be there?

Overall I am doing really good physically and most importantly mentally. I won't let something like this drag me down, I promise :) . I just want to get home now because being stuck in here is doing my bloody head in lol but they won't let me go anywhere! I look forward to getting home and getting back to normality and talking about Liverpool with you lot.

Have a great evening to all and thank you all so much again.

{Ed001's Note - I hope you enjoy it, been a long time working on that one. Get well soon mate.}

Don't post that often, but man Salah, what a hit son! Your effervescence towards life is truly refreshing and I hope people on this site, including me, could take encouragement from it.

Welcome back mate! Hope you recover physically very soon (I won't say mentally, cuz there is no weakening there for you) .

Look forward to your positivity and all the wonderful things you have to share about life and Liverpool. You will never walk alone buddy.

That's the thing you see Pete mate, it's too easy to be angry you know? I can't be angry at them, I'd much rather help them because they need help but my hands are now tied, it's in the laws hands now.

I paid the one who's in this hospital a quick visit and had a brief chat with him, he knows he did wrong and after speaking to him I truly believe he'll get his life sorted out in time, he's doing well and wasn't hurt too bad, thankfully. If it took me getting done in to help three people get on the right track eventually, I'll take that mate.

It took me 8 or 9 banter pages to find this string, but it was all well-worth it.
Salah, I'm so happy for you and so thankful for the gift of life and your positive mental attitude. Hope we can all learn a thing or two from your demeanor and can continue to take on life's struggles, whatever they might be.
Having said that, you touched on Square Tomatoes' issues that I was completely unaware of, and I'd like to dig into the pages some more to learn more, as I am interested in helping and supporting anyway I can.
Walk on. YNWA.
