I'd like to start off by saying mondays win was what we lacked before. A game we disnt perform to our best, but still won.
But, with that, I have a little critism. I felt when our players got in good attacking positions, they got a bit stingy and looked at taking a shot, rather than going for a pass to a player in a better position to score.

Game could have been better
We scored 2 but another day that could easily have been
5. May take a couple of games for the boys to get back
Into the swing of things following the holidays and world cup.

Didn’t we beat Palace last season (twice) 1-0 and 1-2 and not play well in either. Monday’s result was a very good one but I wouldn’t go as far as saying we’ve never won ugly before. 1 game at a time.

It's also not easy to find the killer pass when opposition have massed ranks around their penalty area. It's good to mix your options up, one may work for you when the other doesn't.

On the other hand tho we didn't register a shot until about 20 mins into the match. I like a few strikes on goal in the first 10 even if they fly over, I just prefer front foot football from the off like we normally do.

When we nearly won the league we didn't start playing properly till be smashed Tottenham in the December.

We just bagged the points up until then. Started the league with 3 or 4 1-0 wins if I remember.

You're right jk23, especially the 2nd half of last season, Liverpool were winning ugly. The game at Stoke rings a bell.
