Sorry if it’s been answered but do you know why Fabinho wasn’t in the squad last night?

It is a) we have a really strong squad and b) Klopp is letting him get up to speed on the way we play.

{Ed025's Note - or he could just be a lemon?.. :)

Ed025, are you trying to take over Ed002's mantle of making shocking statements and announcements, LOL? My goodness, are players even allowed to turn to be lemons at this level of the game and with these amounts of money exchanging hands?

{Ed002's Note - As I have already explained, he is struggling to settle.}

Now, now ArAy, got to let 25 have his wishful thinking. He does support a small club, after all.

It was plain as day in pre-season that he's anything but a lemon. It's a matter of whether he settles. Hopefully he will.

Mad Dog took some time to force his way into the side last season. Give Fab time to adjust.

Flash? Is that a thing now? I don't think many on here are up to speed with 1980s American Football coaches.

Fab will be okay. Sometimes it does take time to settle. We saw in pre season that he can play?

Just me that thought he struggled a bit in pre-season?

With you on that rollanfield. When on the ball he looked composed, but getting the ball seemed to be a struggle for him. He did look pedestrian and the play seemed to move around rather than through him. That said, it's early days and let's hope he gels soon.

Is the settling aspect due to the style of play of the team? Or is it due to moving to a new country, new culture, etc etc?

{Ed001's Note - the latter.}

It'd be a real shame if he doesn't settle, because he's a real talent and could be a huge asset to this team. I think his versatility could add so much over the course of a long season.

Coincidentally, it looks as if Lucas Moura seems to be getting on at Spurs - which is great news for them. If I recall correctly, he had problems settling while at PSG, so they never really got to see his full potential. Whether that was due to not settling in France, or something else, I'm not sure - but, it's good to see him kicking on; he's certainly got the talent.

Would much rather Fabinho be given the time to settle at the club and the with the football we play. He obviously has quality he'll get there eventually, it'll just take hard work by all concerned.

The alternative is he gets thrown in when not ready just to try and justify his price tag and he gets slated. like Fred at United.

Both Robertson and Ox were kept out of the team until they were viewed to be ready. No problem with the same happening with Fabinho.

Just curious but what does a club do about a player having difficulty settling? What sort of avenues are available to help smoothen the transition and eventually see them become settled? Obviously different players have different reasons for not settling but how would Liverpool, as the example in this case, go about helping Fabinho to find his feet? Obviously taking him out of the limelight is one step (which is one I definitely agree with) but is there anything else?

{Ed025's Note - its not easy seano, they can help and advise him on buying a house which is a very settling first step, also when he starts making friends and more importantly his family do thats massive as well, learning the language will benefit him too mate..

Must be hard moving from a mansion in one country to a mansion in another lol.
