Tonights game will give us so many answers.
1) our defence will be tested (wanna see how Gomez will react)
2) Palaca will force balls into box (big game for Alisson tonight)
3) Can our midfield dictate tempo away from home when we play physical opposition.
4) how many Bobby Mane and Salah wil score?
5) how good Keita will be?

Agree - this is where the rubber meets the road. our ability to win consistently away from home against tricky sides like this will determine if we are credible challengers or not.

I have this eerie horrible feeling. Its LFC, i has never been smooth in the last 25 years. I think palace will give us a nice headache tonite. . Quite a few Ex LFC in there too. it doesn't look good. Hope we score 4 in 20 minutes to ease some pressure.

yes agree, its a good test away from home but if we do lose or draw it doesn't necessarily mean the season is over as many will have us believe should that happen.

If I were one of the boys, and after having reached the CL final only 3 months ago, my confidence would be sky high. Beat the EPL Champions in 3 out of 4 games, and beat some of Europe's best teams to get to the Final. And then added vital reinforcements in the summer. If confidence was 50/ 50 last year, it should be 90/ 10 now. I wouldn't be overconfident at all, I would just tell myself to continue doing what we do as a team, and what we showed in the first game of the season.

Why is everyone worried?

What happens if the lads have a bad game tonight or we don’t get the win? Do we just pack up and go home. To me this is just another game. Our season won’t be defined tonight. We have another 36 league games to go after this one. Let’s just take every game as they come and enjoy them.

Exactly ArAy. These boys know they are capable of beating any side, so as long as they are confident and not complacent then it should be an easy win tonight. I really think/ hope the Liverpool side capable of losing these sort of games is a thing of the past.

This is the best team that we have had for 25 years. It needs to be to win the league. We have boss forwards. Boss midfield. Boss defenders and now we've got a girl in goal. who is boss.

Spot on. These are the games that decide how good your going to be.

Home games and big games are a no brainer as there's so much motivation. Is it there away on a cold rainy night against palace, the game without all the bells and whistles and one where you are going to have to fight, grapple and potentially force a result.

Agree one result doesn’t define our season but I think we’re at the point now where we are pretty close to the finished article and we have the strength and depth across the pitch to be able to control games against the likes of Palace, even away from home.

That’s what City can do, and what we need to do if we are to challenge. This game will be a useful measure of that.

In a lot of ways, I think this is the kind of match that we need at this point in the season. It's the kind of game where we've slipped up in the past, it's against a decent side that have a bit of everything and it's away from home.

As others have said, a loss isn't the end of the world, or the end of our title chances. After last weekend, I imagine there's a fair bit of confidence going through the team - we have options on the bench and we've strengthened the first 11 incredibly well.

I'd usually be really nervous about games like this, but I feel sure we can get the job done. I'd take a scrappy 0-1, but I'm relatively confident.

Is it just me that feels like we've had to wait ages for the second match?
