Eds and fellow reds, one random banter question if I may.
When I started watching Football (late 90s, early 2000s), we used to have very athletic forwards, who used to celebrate with acrobatic summersaults etc. We almost never see them anymore. What has changed? And who is your favourite goal celebrator in recent times?
I quite enjoy the creativity Firmino brings in to his celebrations.

{Ed001's Note - most managers dislike those celebrations as many players have been injured by them. I would think that is why they have gone out of fashion as they would be discouraged by academies.

As for favourite, I really do not care about celebrations.}

It has to be Alan Kennedy’s after he scored against Real Madrid in the 1981 European Cup Final

It still makes me chuckle today, he didn’t know what to do with himself bless him.

Or Fowler’s against the Mancs in 00/ 01 season at home.

Any celebration that doesn't see the player injured or carded is fine by me.

Firmino by a long way. I’m always looking forward to see what else he’s thought up. I did love Suarez’s dive though.

Worst celebration was Borini with his ‘knife in mouth’ or Ozil’s thumbsuck. what’s that all about?
