Hi Ed 01. Just watching a few games this morning. What is your view on the difference between Vardy sending off and the high tackle of Pickford on Ings which never even got a free kick. The comentaters said it was Vardys follow through that got him sent off but Pickford was okay? Both took the ball. Different for goalkeepers.

{Ed001's Note - for some reason keepers get protection. No idea why but raising their foot is not given as a foul against a keeper, as it is seen as them 'protecting themselves' even though it is against the laws of the game. Refs do not apply the laws in the same way to keepers.}

Thanks Ed. I can see protection in some areas with high knee but charging out of the area with foot up is different. Strange!

Good point. Always been a bug bare of mine when i was playing. You would routinely see fouls given for slight pushes going for aerial balls. Then a cross would come in and the gk would completely wipe out his own player, and opposition player before even getting to the ball! Both of whom were between ball and gk, yet no foul and big well done to the gk!

Do you think a lot of that is down ro petr cech, because even the chelsea players reaction yesterday when 2 fulham players were perfectly right to go for a loose ball but if a keeper jumps in head (not literally) first on a loose who is in the wrong?

Re the Vardy tackle, it was Mike Dean officiating which really doesn't need any further explanation.

I’m more worried about Craig pawson, 2 debatable red cards in 2 games and he couldn’t even be consistent in a 20 minute period after only giving arter a yellow for a shocking kick that wasn’t even close to being a challenge for the ball.
