great game, i think we can now settle the debate who's better of fred and keita.

I thought keita was more influential ALL game.

Chelsea fan snooping on your site as I love reading all fans opinions! Think it's a little early for this though! Good luck for the upcoming season guys I do think you'll be right up there!

I have a question for all Liverpool fans though. Do you see Klopp being under pressure if he fails to deliver a trophy this season? Or at the very least runs the eventual champions very close in the league? I know he's loved by you guys and delivers great football but surely it's time to win a froohy? Or is that just my Chelsea win at any cost mentality lol.

No.

He hasn't spent close to you guys, United or city.

He's spending to get close to your teams. Maybe not United but Chelsea first 11 is just as good as ours. Use spent your money earlier than us but don't act like you have an academy team.

Hazard, morata, kante, favregas, Willian, jorginho, Emerson, Alonso, Baka, Luiz, azp, Pedro, total 327 million.

Salah, mane, firmino, Henderson, keita, fabinho, vvd, Allison, Robertson, taa, Lovren, shaqiri total 360 million. Firmino, Henderson and Lovren weren't even his so there's 70 million knocked off.

Sane, sterling, stones, aggro, Silva, bernardo, mahrez, fernandinho, laporte, Mendy, walker, stones, ederson total 570 million

Lukaku, pogba, martial, matic, fred, dalot, Bailey total 350 million.

Klopps bought nothing except keep up with the pac. He also earned these transfers with the massive progress he has made. Regular champions league and finals galore.

Winning is just the cherry on the cake and something we all desire but he's going absolutely nowhere.

I would obviously love us to win a trophy but I don't think Klopp will be under more pressure than usual from most Liverpool supporters if the team improves from last season.

From where we were for the past decade to now, there's a lot that Klopp has improved around the club, so I think he's laying a solid foundation for the foreseeable future. He'll ultimately be judged if we regress or fail to win a big trophy - PL or CL - by the end of his contract.

I'm not basing this on money I'm basing it on the fact you guys haven't won a trophy in a while and Klopp promised success when he arrived. You have a team well capable of competing, forgetting how much he's spent compared to others, so surely success in terms of silverware has to be expected?

Not to mention that Hazard, Willian, Fabregas and Pedro were with us long before Klopp arrived in England so seems like you're mentioning names that make your argument more plausible. So knock off £110m 😉.

And success will come Saim, nice open top bus in May!

{Ed025's Note - you have certainly moved on big emre, i remember vividly all the players holding hands and diving after a draw at home to WBA, now that tickled me but i think your better than that now...unfortunately.. :)

I should mention I believe he's done a great job for you guys and the progress is there for all to see. I just think sooner or later you need a bit of silverware. Whether than is a league cup or the title, something needs to be achieved to say that the journey was worth it. Yes entertaining football is what everyone likes to see but the feeling of winning that trophy is just unbelievable and once one arrives the ball will start rolling. He needs to win a final otherwise he's going to get a massive reputation for bottling it when it matters, Spurs style! But I believe you have what it takes, you have a very strong first 11 and squad.

Saim I see your point but I think Klopp has only spent to get to the top table but no more (and arguably selling Coutinho offsets some of this, as most of the other top sides haven’t lost anyone that good) .

Let’s be honest here, we were at best 4-8 league table type squad before now (barring 13/ 14 season where Suarez/ Sturridge/ Sterling and Gerrard clicked) and now I would say we should be a top 3 type squad (with Keita and Alisson joining in particular) .

Once you factor that in, it’s difficult for any team (except maybe City) to say there’s much more than a 30% chance of winning the league in any one year. Likewise for cups which have so many teams and always a slice of luck involved (what if Salah hadn’t been injured? ) then there is always the chance we don’t win anything yet again even if he does everything right as an individual. Should he get sacked if that’s the case? No in my book.

Results do matter, don’t get me wrong, but I think more important is whether the club is getting better year on year, and I would say we are for sure. So long as Klopp does that, then I’m comfortable it will bring results in the end, guaranteed.

Hardly bottled the final against Real Madrid and as for the Europa League final did you not see the team he took there. Klopps very rarely had a team as strong as this and yet has had immense success I think the rest of the clubs should be worried about what he could achieve now

wherever he's been he's won trophies usually after about three seasons, were there now and look at the team that's been built.

All I'm saying about the money issue is he's not bought any sort of gap between the clubs he's just closed one your team is as good as any in the world providing you don't lose courtois and Hazard.

Sorry lads I think my posts maybe came across the wrong way. Personally I think he's been awesome for you and wouldn't mind him at Chelsea one day as unlikely as that is! But all the things I'm saying will be what the media and other fans will be saying if there isn't trophies delivered any time soon! I'm not saying you bottled it but no doubt many will be if you continue to lose finals.

I hear you about the pre season pressure Saim, but let’s wait till the window closes. End of the day, he is only spending what the owners are making available, and given the quality of other teams in EPL and Europe, it is impossible for someone to stand up and say “I promise you the title”. I think what he needs to do is challenge at the highest level, play good Football and dominate games. If after that results don’t come this season, or city or united or Chelsea or Arsenal have a blinder like city did last season, it is what it is. We can move on and try again next season.

Nah Salm, just the fact you put it out there you're a Chelsea fan has got the knee jerkers going and we all know how many posters on this page love a good knee jerk.

I would think that klopp has brought himself enough favour with fans and ownership to survive a year without trophies. That can all change of course. Like a relegation battle lol But for me, and for where we are at as a club currently I think thatwe should be expecting the team to challenge in all comps. We haven't won anything or done enough to be saying we should expect trophies.
