Apart from all the talks this season, surely there will be a debate on Alison vs DDG vs Ederson. Who is the best and all. There will be pressure on Alison to prove his worth for the price tag and also he will have Ederson on his feet who wants to show that he is better than him. There will be mini battle between these three. So what's your take on this Ed 001 and fellow reds.

{Ed001's Note - why would Ederson be in the debate? He is simply not in the same league as De Gea or even close to it. Alisson has potential but he is not there either. The debate would have to be towards the end of the season if Ederson steps up his game or Alisson plays at least as well as last year.}

Ederson was barely tested and when he was tested he crumbled, people admiring him is something I can't get my head around. When teams attacked them their defence/ Ederson couldn't handle it yet he's up there being named with the likes of De Gea? not for me.

As things stand, Alisson is 10 x the goalkeeper Ederson is. De Gea is the best in the world there's no doubt about that and Alisson has the potential to be as good as him. As Ed says if he plays as good as he did for Roma last season then we're looking at a competition between Alisson and De Gea.

As a keeper, Ederson is average, but he was not bought for his goalkeeping abilities as much as his playmaking abilities. If he gets pressurised more, he'll be found out more, but it requires a whole lot of change in attitude from the rest of the league. Man City are not infallible, it just needs a few more managers to realise it.

I've seen Alisson play all of about 7 matches with not too glowing an impression so I'm not able to comment on his ability other than what other people have said. If he's like Ederson with proper goalkeeping ability, we're on to a winner there.

De Gea is De Gea. Fergie's parting gift that they have not utilised since he went. A top goalkeeper will grant you reprieve from a whole host of sins and you would think enable a team to flourish ahead of him. They have been very very fortunate to have him when they have. If they had our goalkeeping situation over the same time frame, their transition would have been a lot worse, I think.

Spot on, Salah. Ederson? Really? Even I would not be that bad in the City team as I face next to NO shots on target. We have seen what happens to Ederson (Ironically vs Liverpool) when he is under constant pressure. He is completely useless and an accident waiting to happen.

DDG is constantly under immense pressure at Utd due to the pathetic defence in front of him and even when Jose Pulis parks the bus, he is still getting pelted and survives by literally, mutant powers. Ederson and Alisson (also against LFC where he crumbled under pressure) have o LONG way to go to get to his level.

Only one winner here unfortunately he plays for man u. To the poster who said he might become the best ever I think that's certainly something he is capable of.

Why I included Ederson is he might see this has a chance to prove he is better than Alsion to Tito. Anyway Ed001 happy birthday wishes. May your favorite team wins all the possible cups this year.

{Ed001's Note - ah ok cheers, but I just don't see Ederson getting anywhere near that level, he is not good enough imo. Thank you for the wishes.}
